My little boy turned 4 today! Gosh, it's hard to believe four years have gone by already.
I remember the day we got him like it was yesterday. We had driven for 4-5 hours up to Hedley, BC to visit a Sheltie breeder's house. When we arrived, we were greeted with a lot of barking Shelties! His mom was a tri color, but his dad was just like Kai. He had a sweet disposition and was a gorgeous mahogany sable too. When we stepped into the house, we were greeted by three beautiful Sheltie puppies. One was already reserved. Of the remaining two, one was jumping up on the xpen trying to greet us, and the other was shaking in fear. We knew which one was comin' home with us!
Jump to four years later, we've accomplished SO many things together. We both discovered the fun sport of agility and the joy of working together in competitive obedience. We did therapy work for a short while and even tried out herding recently (though it was a big flop =p)
My love for dogs stemmed from this sweet boy, my love, my pride and joy. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing dog with even half the love and devotion my boy offers.
Here are some pictures of Kai through out the years, starting with a picture of his first night home. =)

We celebrated today with a small gathering at the park. I'll post those pics later tonight. :)
