A heard about this yesterday and I saw more about it on the news tonight. It happened locally, in Sandy, UT. I can't believe that anyone would do this. If I tell this wrong, I'm sorry, I didn't get to see the entire thing on the news, and I can't find any info about it on the net. Some people had two siberian huskies. A black and white one and a white one. I guess while the owners were not home they chewed the fence and dug under it. They killed a neighbors beautiful black and white cat. Now I think this is just awful, and it is very sad that it happened. :( But dogs are animals with a natural prey drive, and what the cats owner did is just horrible, and did not solve anything. He chased down the dogs. He ran over the black and white one....twice. Then he clubbed the white one in the head so hard that it's skull was cracked. The black and white one did not survive. The white one did. It showed the poor dog. A little boy was petting it, crying. The back of the head was all shaved, and had a lot of huge stitches in it. :( The dog was walking around, but they said they weren't sure if it would have any permanent damage. It did show the cats owner talking and saying how sorry he was. Both the cat owner and the dog owners are facing misdemeanor charges.

Oh boy, that is horrible... :(

If something like that would have happened to me I don't think I could have hurt the animals who did it... Yes I would hate them but I don't think I could hurt them. Had it been a human who had done it to my cat... well then I probably would have. As I see it the dogs have it in their natural instinct, but humans wouldn't have an excuse... Get what I mean?

What a horrible story, Amy! I can't believe the cat's owner could run over a dog and club the other one to near death! Where was his conscience?!!

 Stupid people like that just make me so mad! The dogs can't help the way they are. It just hurts me to hear something like that happening.
My mom & dads rottie is always killing the neighbors chickens, roosters, wrens and other foul that fly into their yard. He is fenced in, but if they fly in there, hey, it's not his fault and the neighbors don't get mad either. I know that's really not the same thing, but geeze, this guy sounded like a real jerk!

That is just horrible!!!! I have a husky and I never realized what prey drive they have. Fortunately the only pet he has killed was the neighbors duck and they were really cool about it. They said, hey, he's a dog. My dogs would do the same thing if they got loose. As a matter of fact, that's what happened to all our other ones. I'm so glad I don't have neighbors like that. I'll sign off now and thank God I have such great, understanding neighbors and say a prayer for the white husky and his family.

I know that I would be very mad if another animal attacked my dogs but personally I would be mad at the owners, not the animals. Animals have an excuse, humans do not. :( They showed a pic of the black and white husky and it looked just like Roxey. It looked pretty young in the photo too, but it might have just been an old pic. :(

I have evil neighbors too. Next door. They seem like a perfect little family but I can't stand them. They hate animals, and they used to trap cats. Todd, the husband, particularly enjoys calling us up. Reggie doesn't bark that often, he is inside most of the time. But if he barks for more then 10 min we get a phone call. I think he has also called the cops on at least every house on our street. I'm hoping that he would not go as far as the cats owner did.

That is so horrible!

Something similar happened with our neighbors and their malamutes. Dennis went out to feed his two dogs when he discovered a horrifying sight. A dead cat.

It is not known how the cat got in there... whether it snuck in trying to get some dog food, whether someone threw it in.... dead or alive... or whether it was atop the shed that the kennel hooked up too and had fell in....

Either way, Dennis was mortified. He got the cat out and buried it, then began the hard task of asking his neighbors if the cat was theirs. He stopped at our house first knowing we had a lot of cats. Thankfully it was not one of ours. Nor did it belong to anyone in the neighborhood... (if it did, no one claimed it)

Dennis felt so bad, but we told him not to blame himself since there was nothing he could of done.

I hate mean people.

Grrrr... ok, now this story pisses me off.. I'm sorry for my language, but.. it's obviously what the idiot has done, was a very stupid thing, going after the two huskies, JUST for killing a cat. It wasn't their fault that they did it.. huskies have a natural prey drive. The reason why I'm really, really UPSET about this is because I own a husky. I wish I could do something for that kid, and that poor white dog. Gah! That story is probably the worst I've heard of someone that evil to do an evil thing to animals. I hope this won't happen again in the future, but it probably will. :( All I can say about this story is that the guy is an idiot. - Rachel, Anna & Rosie. (Hey, they wanted in! ;))

I feel terrible for the cat that was killed but this man obviously should not own pets. He has no respect for the lives of animals and no understanding of nature in general.

Kimmy, tell Dennis that I know exactly how he feels. I went out to let my husky in one day and there in the back yard was a little dead kitten and Dakota was standing over it. He didn't attack it or rip it into shreds though (thank God). It didn't even have a mark on it. Dakota actually has never put marks in the things he kills. I think it's like a cat and mouse. You know how the mouse is dead without a mark on it. It's the same with Dakota's victims. I think Dakota just wants to play and plays too rough. The kitty was a stray but it didn't make it any less traumatizing for me.

Any update on the condtion of the white husky? I feel so bad for that family. What a horrible thing to happen to all the furkids involved.

I'm so sorry that happened to you too. Some days I really worry that Kia will hurt one of the cats by accident. She's begun to get braver with them lately and doesn't understand that they can't play rough.

Thankfully she is crated if we are not home.

I don't know, I've been trying to find more information about it on the internet, but I can't seem to find anything. :(

I would feel so bad if I found that dead cat or kitten in my yard. :( I know that dogs don't do it to be evil, they don't know any better...they are decendents of wolves, they naturally chase prey. I did find a dead robin in they yard once, and Reggie *hates* birds but I'm not quite sure Reggie would be fast enough to catch it. It could have been wounded or something though.

I started to read the terrible story but could not get past the first 1/2 of it...it just makes me sick.
