Thank you for all of your well wishes and wonderful notes. Mr. Buddy Holly only goes outside when tethered. Some days, it's quite a routine to get him harnessed up. After several wake up calls between 5 and 7 am, we'll head for the front room. He'll sit by the front door, but once he hears or see's the harness, he'll take off for the kitchen or basement. We do this a few times some times until he gives in and allows the harness to go on so that he can be hooked to a long cord attached to the front porch. He has enough cord to reach just beyond the sidewalk, but not enough to reach the street, and he'll often accompany us to the side yard to hang laundry on the line and watch for intruders. We only allow him to be outside when we're home and awake and near the front door to ensure he's safe. He spends most of his time under the porch just sleeping, but often comes out when people are walking by. He especially likes to visit with these little kids who live down the street. Some times, he goes out and throws himself in the path of passer bys stretching out from side to side of the side walk, and makes them stop to pet him before he'll let them pass. When it's time to leave, I just have to shake the treat bag and he pops up from under the stairs so that he can stay inside while we're away. These days, it's fairly hot and humid, so he tends to take advantage of air conditioned comfort a lot more. Thank you again.

Meeow, Buddy -- your purr~ents thought of everything! Neat that you allow your humans to tether you. Mew-mew my wish is when you stretch out on the sidewalk for some caresses that only very gentle people touch you. My KatMa hopes there are no trees you can climb when tethered 'cause you could accidently hang yourself! But KatMa feels your purr~ents must have thought of this, so enjoy your supervised time outdoors.

My purr~ents said I may be getting a little brother very soon. It seems like Felix the Cat will join our Palace sometime this week. He is somewhere between 10 and 14 months old, according to my veterinarian, Dr. A. KatMa is just bonkers; no matter how I try to relax her, she is bursting with joy at the thought that Felix could be here as soon as Wednesday! I'll keep everyone posted.

mew, mew, Buddy Holly -- is that news, or what??? :D :D :D

Thank you so much for the extra pics of Buddy in the other thread. I love the ones of him in the sink.

"Huh? Whaddiya mean you need to wash your paws? Can't you just lick them, like I do?" :D
