Oh my, how to start this story. A few years ago my then girlfriend and I rescued a tiny puppy that was dumped at on of the local Indian reservations. This little dog became my heart dog, we just had a bond. She really only listened to me, but she was loved beyond belief by everyone in the family. When we broke up some years later she kept the dog and I visited every now an then. For the last two years I haven't seen this dog at all due to the way ex relationships happen to work.

Flash forward to today. My ex now has a child and is moving into an apartment and can no longer keep the dog. So after two years of no communication one of our mutual friends calls and asks me to at least foster her. She, the dog, has had a lot of stress lately and has been between homes while the ex has been looking for an apartment. Because of this she is very skinny and not in the best of health. But that's all about to change!

She's a mix of everything, but the more clear breeds are Lab, pit, shepherd, husky. She's an extrodinarily smart, but stubborn dog. I had to be a little stern with her at first, but now she's starting to understand that she isn't #1 in the household. We're getting back to the basics. Got her a high quality dry food, I'd love to feed raw, but not right now.. right now is recovery time. Got her a bath and ear cleaning, picked up a new crate, a new collar with tags, and tons of toys.

Without further human BS here is Frankenstein, a.k.a. Frankie, Stein, Franny, and lots of other things. Pictures in the next post.

After picking her up from the mutual friend:

I forgot just how fast she really is. She use to taunt all the dogs at the dog park, and only a handful of sight hounds use to catch her:

I also forgot that she is an avid digger. She's also going to force us to repair the fence sooner than the budget allows. She's a runner and has 0 recall:

She's about 5-10 lbs underweight. She should be right at 50 lbs based on past experiance, and I need to get her on an accurate scale. We'll work on rebuilding muscle and healthy weight over the next few weeks:

LOL her goofy bat ears. One sideways and one up... been like that since she was an 8 week old pup:

A tired Frankie is a good Frankie:

Last but not least, her being modest about her debute to PT:

She is currently a foster, but I don't know that I could let her get away again. She'll probably be here for good, but the living conditions at the house aren't the best. That's why Riley doesn't stay with me. However, my parents won't watch another dog, so I'll have to be extra careful with Frankie.

Oh yeah, she's about 5 years old now. Hope you enjoyed meeting Ms. Francis McFrankenstein.
