View Full Version : Creature of habit?!
Hello, PT'ers!
Have you ever experienced this behaviour in a cat? It turns out that Bella pees in exactly the same spot in her littertray every time she goes! :)
Some time ago I was beginning to worry when I noticed that there seemed to be only one single "lump" of urine in her littertray every 24 hours. As I imagined that this meant that she produced less urine because of some sort of kidney-trouble due to old age  - I called the vet!
From what I described - that there didn't seem to be anything else wrong with Bella: No confusion, no fatique, no weight loss, etc. - the vet nurse concluded that she had probably developed the habit of peeing in the exact same spot every time! So.. have you ever heard about this sort of behaviour??? I'm curious!
Bella will be going to the vet anyway (sorry Bella :p !) - on July 4th actually - due to some other condition that I would like the vet to see. She has 3 small lumps on the skin on her back. Hopefully they are just warts, but just to be sure...
Love,
Sus and Bella!

Yes, I know for a fact that several of my cats always pee in the same position. For example, Lucas (RIP) always peed in the front right corner.
Good luck at the vet, Bella.
This is so interesting because I have actually thought of starting a thread like this myself. I feed Trevor and Andy in the morning and scoop their litter while they are eating. Since they eat separate food I have to feed Andy in a crate. Since I have to sit and wait for Andy to finish so I can let him out of the crate, (Andy is a slowpoke) I always note Trevor's bathroom habits. :o Right after eating he pees and poops in the same part of the litter box every morning. He is like a clock - a very dependable clock. :) I have no idea where Andy goes because he doesn't like to go in the box when anyone is looking. :o
Oh, it's very reassuring to hear that some cats are just like that - very particular about their habits! ;) Besides, I also came to think about that I placed a long mirror on the bathroom floor right next to the litter box some time ago. Maybe this disturbs her so much that she has had to find a certain position where she cannot see the "strange cat" in the mirror while she... Well it is possible, isn't it? :D

LOL - since we have such an interesting thread going. . .
Each night when I scoop P. K.'s and Naranj's pan, I can almost bet within 30 seconds one of them will come in and deposit something. On the weekend, when I change and clean the pan, it's like they can't WAIT to poop in that clean litter. I almost see them racing for it sometimes. (Is there such a thing as feline poop-on-command?) And trust me, I keep it cleaned out during the week very nicely. No "leftovers". It's just funny to watch them after it's cleaned or changed.

This thread is too funny and makes me laugh everytime I see Eve in her litterbox. It's probably a good thing she doesn't have to share because I doubt any other cat would dare enter the box after she's done
Eve is a tiny girl but when she goes potty you'd think there was an army in the bathroom  She digs a crater twice her size and dances around spreading the joy, so to speak! Good thing her litterbox is a covered one, otherwise I would be cleaning the entire room every time :D After each episode, the litter is piled up (High) on one side of the box. Mommy has no choice but to clean it all up and rake the litter back into place. The girl definitely has a method that works ;)

"An army in the bathroom"!!! Hehehe! That's rich! You're right of course, most of them dig as if their lives depended on it...!!! :D :D

LOL! It's funny you should mention it, we haven't even discussed it, but Fister has a habit of peeing in the same spot too, only for while though, then he changes to another corner. It's not because I don't clean it out, I do every time he's been in there.
Now Sus, to change the subject, we need to hear the story of Bella's escapade outside! ;)

Oh, THAT story!!!   But I don't know if I can do it right now, it's late, and I've had a toothache all day. Won't forget though, promise!! :)
Lots of love,
Sus and Bella!

Aww! Hope the toothache goes away soon!
Thanks! But I'm afraid it won't... it has to do with some stupid wisdom teeth that grow the wrong way. I've tried to ignore the pain for a (long!) while, but I really need to do something now. Today my eye was swollen!
Or maybe Bella stepped in my eye last night? :D ... No reason to panic straight away! :)

Oh no, toothache AND a swollen eye! :( I hope you'll feel better soon, or you'll HAVE to go to the dentist! ;) Mine is good, if you need a new one.
We'll hear that story some other day. ;)
