Baby bird found. *URGENT*

I found a baby blue jay in yard today. My dad was mowing the lawn, and almost mowed right over him. Luckily he saw him, and of course stopped. He called me down, and i couldn't find a nest anywhere. As of right now, he's in a little shoe box. What do i do with him? He can't fly yet, he's able to hop around and chirp, but should i just leave him where he was found, or call someone? Help please!

Search for the nearest wildlife rehab and take him there.

The nearest one is an hour and a half away. I just called and keep getting their answering machine. I left a message, hopefully they'll call me back soon.

If you can, meanwhile, put the shoebox back in the yard near where you found him. His parents will undoubtedly hear him yelling!

Try putting the baby bird outside the parents shall try to stay away from it as much as possible to avoid preditores but Im shur if it starts screeching they'll come.

If this baby bird looks weak it shall need to be fed do you want me to give you the baby bird formula?

Keep it in a quiet spot and please try to find the parents.

I've seen the mother bird looking at him, he's in the box right where we found him. It's just so hot outside, but he's under shade.

If the mother has spotted him, that is a good sign. Keep watch, from a distance, and, follow the advice from the above posts. Keep calling the Wildlife Refuge!!! And, please keep us up-dated when you can !!

I pray that this little guy makes it, just because YOU CARED!!!
