Soul is digging, please help

As most of you know, my brother, Anthony, moved out and so did his girlfriend, and Soul the boxer went with his girlfriend. Well Soul has started digging just recently and I am wondering if it's because she misses Anthony. I told him it could be because she's bored or isn't getting enough exercise... but could it possibly be because she misses him? He asked me to post this so I'm hoping someone can help.

When I first got Bella she was a digger. Of course she was a puppy too so maybe that was part of it. She was still digging at the age of 2 when I brought Ripley home. Amazingly the digging stopped then. I am thinking that, at least for Bella, she was digging out of boredom and once she had a little buddy out in the yard with her she wasn't bored any more. I am guessing it might be boredom with Soul too. She probably wishes things were the way they used to be. Dogs don't like change any more than we do. No matter what the reason, I am sure it is hard to be mad with Soul. She is a cutie patootie for sure. :)

I agree, it very well may be boredom. That and it is getting warmer out now, the ground is cooler & often times they will dig a hole to lay in to cool down.

I say to get a kiddie pool for her and make sure she has plenty of shade so she has somewhere to lay that is cool. And to exercise her a little more often. Between the 2 of those she should start diggin less and maybe stop all together.

Thanks for the replies. I was also wondering because Molli and Sammy dig like maniacs... but they get plenty of exercise. :confused:
