I know it is "just" a UTI...but after 12 days on the Royal Canin SO food, there are NO crystals!

He still has some infection, though - so his antibiotic has been changed to Clavamox. Twice a day. I'll be keeping the yogurt handy on this one!

Poor Oscar - the hardest thing is he has been getting scared of me reaching for him, as it is pill time! Now he is in for another 14 days, TWICE a day!

On the way back from the vet's I stopped in at our local pet store, looking for Pill Pockets(large soft treats that are hollow and you stick the pill inside and close it up). No luck. SO I bought a can of Eagle Pack canned Shrimp and Salmon (yes, I know what this is like for urinary things).

Put the pill in the middle of 1/2 tsp or so...and he ate the WHOLE thing! The pill wouldnt' crush, either...it's a tough little thing!

Anyway, here's hoping the next 12 days will be less stressful for Oscar where pilling is concerned, and that this gets rid of his infection once and for all.

Thanks for listening.

Ahh bless Oscar's heart! I'm sorry he's sick, I've had cats who've had that and it's so horrible. :(

Give him some rubs for me!

I am glad the food is working. And the next 2 weeks will go fast, I promise. ;)

Aww, bless him, eating up his pill like that! I hope the rest of the days are as easy. Good luck and good health to Oscar.

I must have missed the first thread about him but I'm glad to hear that he's doing well.:) I also feed all of my cats the Royal Canin Urinary S/O formula in both wet and dry and so far everyone is doing well. Storm had to have the PU surgery and also had crystals and UTI infections. I hope that Oscar will continue to do well on this food.:)
