I took some pics of our obedince practice today, unfortinaly though it seems we will never be able to compete as I plan to breed Misty and like most Working BCs here she is not registered(we only have one herding trial venue and registration is not required so most working breeders dont bother) the only way I can get her a UKC LP number is with proof of spay, and the only way any other obedince club in the city will allow Misty, she would have to be UKC registered...its a no win situation :( not unless I could convince my vet to lie anyway lol

a not so perfect Heel postion, but its still cute lol

i'm sorry you can't compete. :(

why do you want to breed Misty? she's not registered and cannot compete. wouldn't you be just breeding your "pet". maybe there's something i don't know.

Misty is supposed to be my foundation bitch for breeding working BCs in my area there is only one venue for sheepdog trialing and it does not require registraion, as a result most working breeder in my area dont bother to register there dogs with the CBCA. usually if a breeder registeres there BCs with the UKC they are a show breeder which I refuse to support, and the CKC does not recignize BCs. I do not plan to breed Misty until she is properly proven on sheep, seeing them 3 times and having trialers say she is better then average is not "proof" of anything. Misty is also a compition dog is flyball and agility.

oh ok. Misty's pups won't be registered right? why not start with a registered bitch? even if you have to go out of your area to get one. than you could compete in Obediance and everything else.

sorry if i sound dumb.lol i'm so use to my AKC working breeds i had no idea you could responsibly breed unregistered dogs.

I honestly dont see registrations as very important, the CBCA is only a working registry, as in it has nothing whatsoever to do with obedience and what not. if I want to do sheepdog trialing with her I can, no problem because the venue here does not require her to be registered, when I chose Misty I have NO intention of obedience, I intended only to do flyball, agility and herding, she is registered with NAFA and AAC for the flyball and agility, and no registration required for the herding, I have only withine the last couple of days thought about obedience lol and I will not touch a UKC or AKC registered BC breeder with a ten foot pole :p

i understand why you wouldn't want to buy a BC from an AKC or CKC breeder. they look like compleatly different dogs!

AKC BC-

working BC-

the AKC breeders have deformed so many breeds. mainly herding breeds. the german shepherd's back legs look broken, the corgi's have super short stubby legs, the ausi and BC have big thick poofy coats.

i think i see what why you are wanting to breed her. just be careful to WHO you breed her to! a lot of unregistered dogs that are bred have no genetic testing done. have you done any tests on Misty yet?

Misty has been CERF'ed so far, I will of coarse be making sure that any stud I choose is fully tested :)
