It is very warm here since a week. On tv they call it our first heatwave of the year! I stay indoors as much as possible and try to keep the house cool (no airco!). Of course the cats are having a hard time. What a pity they cannot just take off that warm coat for a while ;) :D .
So, Maya, Inka, Snoopy & Zazou, they all lay there, telling me: WE NEED AIR!!!!

Oh yes I can certainly tell it is your first heat wave just by looking at how tired they all are. Don't you just love it when they are sprawled out and tired like that, makes me want to take a nap right on side of them.

Poor furry babies! :)
With no air conditioning.. do you use a lot of fans??
Tinky loves to sit in front of the fan on hot days.....

Thats One Reason That I Now Have The Front And Back Porches, So The Found Cats Can Have A Nice Place, Where They Can Get A Cross Breeze.
They Really Dont Like The Air Conditioner At All, The Smell Disagrees With Them.
Your Cats Would Love A Nice Ceiling Fan, To Circulate The Air.

NO....... no airco here..... . It is unusual to have it here! We do have a fan in the bedroom, but that is it. So, Should I allow my lil ones to go and rest on our bed

That is where Tinky likes to hang out... i have a small fan that points to the bed for when I'm sleeping.. and she will lay RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT.. little fan hog!! ;)

Poor girls!! They look as exhausted as I'm feeling! LOL
We here in Germany are suffering from the same heatwave, it's almost unbearable today.
Too bad that air conditioning isn't standard in European households!!!

Oh poor babies, they're suffering as we are in this heat. :( It's after 6PM and it's 29 degrees here! Poor Fister has been under the cupboard all day while I was at work. He hadn't eaten anything all day. When I came home, I immediately gave him a rub down with the wet glove. I don't have AC either, but left the windows open to get some draft through. I made sure he had lots of cold water before I left though.
Anyway, I think this is the last of it, they promised thunderstorms, and we'll be back to normal temperatures in the next few days. :)
Not the best week to start a new job!
PS. John bought this huge thing with a drawer to put ice in and turn on to blow cool air, but it's in cellar and too heavy for me to carry up here.

We have the same here. Today is supposed to be the warmest day. And our furbabies can not put their fur off ! :(
Fortunately the ground floor of the house is quite fresh here, not more than 23 degrees, so it's fine.

For the Celcius impaired: 29ºC = 84ºF & 23ºC = 73ºF
23ºC would be a comfortable temperature here in Southern California; 29ºC isn't that unusual a temperature during the summer. Even higher...

I never thought I'd use my ac but find I love it since I can set it to where I want and not have to freeze.
However, I can totally relate to the heat having suffered for long summers with it for years.
Since I didn't have carpeting, I would mist parts of the floors with cold water for the cats to sleep on. It would dry fast and leave the floor cool. You can do the same thing by just mopping the floor with cool/cold water. Fans blowing also helps.
I've even made ice packs wrapped in towels for the cats to sleep next too. :)

75 to 84 degrees F (yes, I am celcius impared :D ) is a heat wave of enormous preportions  So what is the humidity like when it's that warm?? Really, I'm not being factitous.

Oh my poor darling Inka! How terrible that you and your sisters have to put up with such heat! I understand how you feel because during the summer it gets very hot here in Trenton, sometimes the temperature is over 100 degrees. Last summer Soncat and another man put an air conditioner in our apartment. It makes inside feel nice but they put this thing in one of my favorite windows! Tell you what, my sweet... why don't you come to Trenton and you can stay in the air conditioning with me?
Purrs, snuggles, kitty hugs, and kitty kisses,
Love,
Your Groucho
