i got a new job at a Denny's in Jasper,IN. i'll be a waitress. i only make $2.15 an hour, but i get to keep all my tips. this is a temparary job so i can have some extra money for when my boyfriend and i move in together.

Congratulations! I'm confused, though. How do they get around paying you minimum wage? I thought it was called that because it is the minimum allowed to be paid. Isn't that over $5 an hour?

Minimum wage rules do not apply to certain jobs where tipping is a routine practice. Waitressing, in some cases maids, there are a few jobs which don't follow that rules.
