We just had the vet come over, and Fuji, our Polar Husky, tested positive for Lyme Disease :( . We have her on medicine now, and I'm pretty sure she's going to be ok. We just need prayers, thanks!!! :)

Prayers and heartfelt thought for Fuji.

Please keep me updated. I am doing research in "Lyme Disease" concentrated areas in Michigan .

Lillie , my son's dog, has had two ticks on her in the past 3 years.

She is here right now, and I think she knows that I am reading about Fuji.

Thank you for the prayers! She has a pill in a small piece of beef jerky a couple times a day. She is very strong and happy. :)

:( we'll keep Fuji in our prayers. Hopefully with the meds she'll have a symptom-free life. Did you suspect something was wrong? I hear about Lyme disease all the time, but I don't know much about it.

No, she wasn't showing signs of it, we didn't know about it until the vet came over. I think she's getting much better, thanks :) .

There are vaccines against it, my dogs get them. Not sure if they can get it again once they have contracted it, but just info for everyone else.

Sadie gets the Lyme's vaccine but at the dog park we met a guy whose dog contracted Lyme's despite the vaccination. Apparently it works for most but not all dogs.

That fact scared me since I guess I felt safe for Sadie, of course us humans don't have a vaccine yet.
