Hey, gang. Not very often have I posted about LOUD Louie’s health, however tonight I am one Very Paranoid Mommy…

He has always had a limp after playing really hard. He’s had it since he was about 1 ½.

X-rays at the time showed nothing and Doc said rest a few days he’ll be good as new. This has always worked, as he is NUTS about the ball and it has occasionally reoccurred through the years. He's 7 years old now, but as playful as when he was a pup!
The last couple of days he’s been a bit gimpy and hasn’t been getting on the furniture or our bed (which Daddy dropped to the floor when he was pup so as to prevent injury) This evening we were playing and he suddenly did this odd stretch, like a muscle cramp, and when you touch his front shoulder area you can feel it spasm and twitch … we immediately stopped and called the White Coats. Grandma came over and of course he actually winced and whined for her when she touched his shoulder. He’s been pretty miserable ever since, although he wants nothing more than to eat and play. So he’s wandering around the house with that depressed look in his eyes. :(

I feel terrible because I don’t know exactly when or how this injury occurred.
Could I have prevented it? I don't think he can get any more sheltered, short of wrapping him in bubble wrap.
Lou is off to the White Coats in the early A.M.

We are praying that it is nothing more than a pulled muscle or sprain. We could use some of those “Healing Pet Talk Vibes”, please.

A BIG Thank You to all...

Louie of course was better today. No wince or whines for the Doc. Only time he whined was when they took his temp. :o Doc says Soft tissue injury, he may have just over done it, possible sprain. Doc put him on "Limited Activity". We get to go for 7 days of NO BALL :eek: and no running back and forth barking at the fence and Yorkies next door. Metacam once of day.

Other than that he's a very healthy boy. He's a little on the "Fluffy" (Chubby) side so we are working on that too. He Knows just how to keep Mommy wrapped around his little paws and plays well on Mommy's heart strings with that "poor, poor pitiful me look."

Thank you all once again, It's going to be a rough week for the LOUD Louie. NO ball playing for the Lou in his eyes is aboose!

Aw, Lou. I'm so sorry you can't play ball or race your friends but I'm glad to hear it's nothing that a lil' R&R won't cure. {{hugs m'dear!}}

(PS I go walking with *my* mommy almost everynight. On our route, there's a replica of you... Well, ofcourse that always brings LOUD Louie stories... Yep, mom knows all about your bestest dress-up trick and how you hate s-p-a day... she also knows about the Beans... She's quite well, trained. Everytime we pass Louie-2, she inquires about you! :) )
