(6/08/06 - ST. PETERS, MO) - A woman angry that her new puppy had died pushed her way into a dog breeder's home and repeatedly hit her on the head with the dead Chihuahua, authorities said.
The 33-year-old woman told police she had taken the puppy to a veterinarian, who said it was only 4 weeks old and needed to be returned to its mother. But before she could return the puppy, it died.

Early Wednesday, the woman went to the breeder's home, pushed her way inside and began fighting with the breeder as she tried to make her way to the basement to get another puppy, police said.

The breeder wrestled the woman out of her house to the front porch, where the woman then hit the breeder over the head numerous times with the dead puppy, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, citing police.

As the woman drove away, she waved the dead puppy out of the car's sunroof and yelled threats at the breeder, police said. She later called the breeder and threatened her and her family, according to court records.

Police said they are considering felony burglary charges and misdemeanor assault charges.

This story disgusts me in two ways. Well, three.

First off, I live(d) in St. Peters MO. It does not surprise me in the least bit that some psycho would come from there. And St. Charles is pretty big for BYB and puppy mills with people buying two "purebred" and registered dogs and thinking they can make a quick buck by pumping out puppies.

Secondly, the breeder let the puppy go AT FOUR WEEKS!?!?

And thirdly, though the actual VISUAL of the women being beat with the dead puppy I do find morbidly amusing, it still does disgust me that she waved it from her sunroof. I mean, just beat her up if you're going to beat her up, but using the puppy is a bit overkill..

I really dont blame the woman for being upset. She did cross the line though.
Its a sad situation. I hope both learned a lesson :(

ROFLMAO I'm sorry it is disturbing but the visual of some whacko on a porch...... (coughs to stop laughing) all I can say is all the more reason to ADOPT it's more difficult to get beaten with dead animals that way......(looks at her rescue dobe thinks how many vertabra I would throw out of whack using him as aclub........)Sorry for the giggles but I too live in the area across the bridge in Alton but I think the breeder should be charged also with animal cruelty neglect and basic stupidty. There is no absolutely no reason other than a quick buck for her to have released pups so young, the owner of the dead pup was out of bounds but the breeder should be held liable for something how sad it must be for the rest of her :( dogs
