In these "Dog Days" (lol) of summer, would you rather have

Baskin Robbins "31 Flavors"

or Dairy Queen

no such place as baskin robins anywhere near me. Dairy Queen is OK, but its really expensive. the best would have to be without a doubt, Milkyway, there is a reason why the entire time its open there is never less then 40 custamors gathered around(and I am NOT exadurating) lol that ice cream is fabulous and filling, at any other ice cream store I order a large or medium ice cream, at milky way the ice cream is so filling that I can barly eat a small lol

I'm a Dairy Queen Queen myself. Earlier this year they had the banana cream pie blizzard that was simply scrumptious, but like all things which I have a penchant for they discontinued it!

I kid myself that Dairy Queen isn't as bad for you as that other brand. I think I remember reading somewhere it has less saturated fat, but I don't really want to know the actual numbers.

Baskin Robbins. It's probobly been 10 years since I've had one, though. lol.
However there is a frozen custard place on the corner that's got a choice peanut butter shake. It's called Shakes.
mmm.

Dairy Queen's soft serve can't be beat, even though I barley like ice cream (too cold and I think I'm becomming lactose intollerant) I'll still go for a dipped cone or a blizzard. My friend used to work there. :)

Definitely Coldstone....

If I had to chose between the 2 listed though, I'd chose Baskin Robbins. Can't beat their choice in ice cream flavors, and I'm not a big 'vanilla girl' :)

I like hard ice cream better than softserve, softserve places are pretty rare - no open Dairy Queens that I know of in our area.

We have a local ice cream shop called Cabots - it has been around for years, and has scrumptious ice cream in many flavors. They also do soft serve, sundeas, frozen yoghurt, sugar-free ice cream, fat-free ice cream, and dairy-free ice cream - tofutti, but it's better, and creamier tasting, I am told, than any other tofutti places.

Anyone who visits Boston in the summer, let me know, and we'll treat you to a Cabots treats of your choice! http://www.cabots.com/ for the curious!

I haven't been to a Baskin Robbins or a Dairy Queen, since I was a kid. I really love Blue Bell Ice Cream the best, as their slogan says "Blue Bell, the best Ice Cream in the Country" and it sure does seem to be the Ice Cream of choice down here in Texas. There was a salt mine explosion a few years back, near the Blue Bell creamery and I can remember the main concern of most people was if the Blue Bell Cows and the Creamery were unscathed, then as an afterthought, "Oh and I hope no people got hurt either".

For fast food places though, I like Sonic. They have a really good Sunshine Smoothie and Chocolate Cream Pie shake. The dogs are in total agreement on this too. Say "Sonic" and then get out of the way of the stampede, rushing to get in the car. :)

Between the two I'd have to say DQ because I prefer soft serve. However, my favorite is The Meadows - mmmmm YUMMY! I also like Bruster's, although they have hard ice cream but the flavors are good

I love TCBY and Dip n' Dots(I'm not sure how to spell it though). At TCBY, I always get an Oreo Joe. MMM, those are delicous and at dip n' dots, i get the cookies and cream flavored ones. Those are really cool because they taste just like ice cream, but they are little dots! But out of the two mentioned, I like DQ better. I love their Brownie Batter Blizzard!

Dip n' DotsI love Dip'n Dots!! There isn't one around me, but I always get it at an amusement part an hour or so away from me. They beat the other ice creams, hands down!

whats TCBY?Stands for "The Country's Best Yogurt". They carry frozen yogurt (tastes just like ice cream).

There aren't any Baskin Robbins around here and I'm not a big fan of soft serve, but there is an excellent ice cream place in town that makes the best ice cream! They have great flavors and yuuuummmmm it's so good- they're called Heyn's. :D

There is a Baskin Robbins in our block, and a Dairy Queen not too far away...but I would pick Deitsch's (local to Findlay, about 45 minutes from here!). Local to us in Toledo, I would pick Cold Stone or Cold Fusion (same at Cold Stone, but serves Toft's ice cream, Toft's being a nother excellent Ohio ice cream place, local to Sandusky)

Coldstone creamery wins by a long shot! I just love all their ice cream. We barley go anymore though, as its VERY expensive.(costs my dad 16 dollars for 4 medium cups. )

My new favorite place is Brewsters! I got hooked on it while we were living in Tennessee.
Their thing called the "Hot Fudge Brownie" is to die for.

Taken from the website:
Fresh vanilla ice cream, moist brownie, covered with hot fudge, whipped cream… Can you say “decadence?”

Of those choices, definitley Dairy Queen - there's times I get a real hankerin' for a twist cone! But the best by far is Deitsch's, in Findlay- my son said they are even listed in a book of the best ice-cream places in the nation! Of course, there's also Grater's in Columbus - the kids love the tour of the new ice cream factory, too.

just wondering what is your favorite coldstone creation and have you tried the germanchocolatecake yet??

Ugh. Neither of those two come close to Graeter's Ice Cream! I think BR tastes like its cream has been frozen and thawed about fifty times over. DQ, at least here, seems to specialize in the soft serve stuff (as well as shake things and scary food) more than ice cream.

Coldstone IS good, but, the price is ridiculous, as is the stupid, loud, greeting. WHY does anyone think being screamed at the moment you walk into a door is good business practice? Sheesh.

I don't think I've ever seen a Baskin Robbins before, but I've heard of it.

Both are ok, but nothing beats paradise island ice cream. So many flavors and they have the real thing, not soft serve like dairy queen. I like strawberry cheesecake ice cream. I like snobiz too. I hate coldstone, only three flavors and 16 add ins but it costs an arm and a leg for one scoop. No thank you, I'll pay my three bucks at paradise for a cone the size of my head. The opposite of coldstones melted mess is dip'n dots, which I dislike also. The dots were so cold I couldn't taste any of the flavoring at first, and when I did it tasted like dental flouride, ick.

Why would do they do? They scream at you? I've never heard them scream here.

This is the 'standard' Coldstone greeting. This is what they go over in training...so, maybe the word 'screaming' is a little over the top, BUT, they are loud, and 'in your face' with the greeting, as they are trained to do. It isn't just Coldstone....I know a national coffee house that has instructions to their staff to 'greet' the person entering the store within a certain number of feet....so, if you do the math, with a counter 20 feet away, the greeting is somewhat loud by necessity to carry and cross the distance.

You are probably used to it, or not offended by it, but, I imagine the Coldstone near you trains their people the same way the Coldstone near me trains theirs...as it is a national chain. ;)

Well, I don't go that much anyway because of the prices. Coldstone is priced to high for me. I could just go to any supermarket and buy a carton of Ice Cream for way cheaper then I would pay for 4 dishes of ice cream at ColdStone.

But, I think I know what you mean. They are sort of loud when we go in(Like I said, which is rare.)
