I don't know what to do.. he just peed some spots of blood in the living room. And there was a little piece of "booger" I don't know what better to cal it.. that was in the pee spot.. then he squatted some more and there was another little piece of "booger" on his little privates........

He keeps going to the potty box and licking himself.... Im guessing it is a UTI.. Is this an emergency right now?!?!?

I can not afford to take him to the emergency vet.. Is it possible this can wait till Monday? Are some vets open on Sunday???

Oh God.. I'm so worried about my big boy ... what should I do for him>???????

FIRST - look under Veterinarians in your yellow pages. If any are open on Sunday, it will say so in their ad.

Sounds like it might well be a UTI...I suggest you contact IMOM asap and see if poor Jupiter's condition is covered. They DON'T have a phone #, but they have email and fax on the link below:

http://www.imom.org/fa/contact.htm

This link is for IMOM Emergencies, if it applies. Read carefully!

http://www.imom.org/fa/emergencies.htm

You might want to just call the emerg vet(not go in)...if J has had this before, has he been on some antibiotics for it? Would the vet give you a couple to get started before you reach IMOM? Do you have any at home you could use, subject to the vet's okay?

I wish I could help faster...if nothing else, I will chip in some for emerg.

Call emerg vet first, and see what they say. They might even reduce their fees a bit...ask if there's a form to fill out.

I am blathering...I would be panicked if one of my boys did the same thing!!!!

When I was working in the clinic a blocked cat was ALWAYS considered an emergency. Blocked cats can decline very rapidly. I would suggest getting to a vet ASAP.

Please take him to the vet at all costs. This could be life threatening and the problem is, there is no way for YOU to tell if it is a UTI (can wait) or blockage (URGENT). But my hunch says if you see solid particles in the urine, we have crystas/stones.

I have been such a worried meowmie!!

I've been watching Jupiter all day. I called the emergency vet and they wanted $88 just for the office exam... I just can't afford that right now.

He is peeing though. Thank God.. because I would have just took him and charged it if I really had to.

Hes first pee today had a little blood in it but the pee he just had a minute ago looked good.....

I went to petsmart and got him some different food. I just recentely changed their food and he has always had a sensetive tummy... So I'm hoping this new food will help him. I bout the science diet for sensetive tummies.. and I also found these "Uri Ease flavored soft chews". They stink. It says give him two, five times a day. He ate them... and I was sooo proud of him.

I let him sit outside on the porch today.. (i haven't been cause I have the AC on) but i wanted to keep his mind off feeling like he has to pee.

He has been chasing bugs and acting happy all day... so I'm really really hoping he isn't real bad sick.

Thanks everyone so much for your concearn. I might be taking him to the regular vet tomorrow if I still see he has blood in his pee.... :(

Take him to the regular vet anyway...he DID have gunky stuff and blood in his pee. Maybe he passed a stone, or maybe he has a mild infection that will get worse.

Fax or email IMOM and see if they will cover this. And if you need some $ help, just post. I can help some.

Thanks Catty!!

My friend was telling me about her vet that she just took her puppy too. I'm going to call them tomorrow.. My stepmom used to go to them and loved them.... and will be bringing him in tomorrow.

They always throw this kind of thing at you on a weekend, and when you are strapped financially, don't they?! I'm very glad he's peeing better now because it sounded like an emergency vet visit was your only option at first. Also glad you are taking him in for a urine check because it's best to fix this now and not have him block at an even more inconvenient time.

Me and my big boy went to the doctor yesterday. She said his bladder felt really small.... so he probably just had a bladder infection. He got a shot of antibiotics and we got some to take home....

He is such a good boy... She said to watch him for a few days to make sure his urine clears up... and keep him on his medicine.. He made a big pee patty for me in the potty box this morning... and didn't go back in to try again... so I hope his new food is helping him feel better too!!

He weighs 16 pounds.. he is my big big boy.. I just wanna go home and squeeze him!!
