For the last few weeks, every night, ALL NIGHT, Double-Oh will walk around the house, meowing LOUDLY, very very loudly, knocking things down, breaking things, ALL NIGHT!!! Last night I did not get ANY SLEEP because of him.

Now even throughout the day he will just walk around, meowing LOUDLY. I think maybe he wants attention, ok! So I call him, he doesn't come.. I go get him, pick him up, pet him, play with him, he sleeps in my lap... he will be quiet for a little bit... but start right back up again.

I seriously am about to loose my temper in dealing with him. I have to be at work sometimes at 7am and I've been late before because he has kept me up all night!! I can not just close the door and lock him out or anything either since our bedroom is a loft, so its open to the entire apartment.

Hes doign it, again, and it is DRIVING ME FREAKING NUTS.

How old is he? Does he hate water? Try the spray bottle. Or earplugs for yourself. Is he neutered?

7 months, unneutered (awaiting on getting a certificate to take him to an Arkansas shelter and have it done for like... $30. But HJ keeps forgetting to pick it up from his friend... I'm quite sure it has something to do with the behavior... and I am going to ring HJ's neck.....). He likes, scratch that, LOVES playing with water in the sink.. I have earplugs and they work quite well but we ran out and HJ, once again, keeps forgetting to pick some up from his work.

Get him neutered...take a taxi and pick up that certificate if you need to!

Ya don't need that, and neither does poor Double-Oh!

I'd assumed it had something to do with his manhood... I'm really getting on HJ's butt about getting that certificate! Our friend offered to take him with him the next time he went to AR (he reguarly visits family in AR) so I don't understand what the wait is, lol.

Sometimes men are a bit funny about neutering male cats....they think it's THEM that are losing some bits! :)

Keep at him...can you not phone the friend YOURSELF and remind him? At least the friend might remember! :D

Well its his buddy from work ;) We hang out occasionally but we're friends by association, I suppose hehe

I definitely had a talk with him last night and said we are NOT procrastinating any more!! Especially since, apparently, he was at walmart last night and talked to a lady who was buying ten bags of cat food :o and she said to get him fixed. So.. he listens to a random lady at walmart, but not his own fiance! lol

Hey, when family does it, it's nagging. When it's a stranger, it's a GOOD IDEA!!! :D

As long as poor Double-Oh gets fixed up and shutting up.

It can take 10 days for the hormone levels to go down...so if he still yells for a while, he's just going through the "change"....lol

I do think a big part of the problem is that he isn't fixed, but I also think part of the problem is that he's a little boy! Corkscrew was a terror when I first got him at 8 months old, he didn't start to mellow out until he was maybe 2-3 years old. He still spends some nights locked in the bathroom because he like to jump on shelves, cabinets, bookshelves or anything he can find just to knock stuff off. He likes to push things and watch them fall. However he no longer attacks me like he used to when he was a kitten. I couldn't sleep with him in the room because he would jump onto the bookshelf then dive onto my face!

Tuna wasn't any better as a kitten, his favorite hobby was to break things. He also loves to watch things fall. Kittens are naughty and I think little boy kittens are even naughtier! Plus nighttime is the best time to cause trouble because that's when mommy is asleep!

How about getting some low wattage night lights??? Although I really think everyone is right, he needs to be neutered.

My Munchkin, Shortie Girl, walks around the apartment meowing her head off after I go to bed. She's actually looking for MooShoo (personally, I think they're having a little "kitty love"). She hops up on my bed. Once I show her that he's right next to me under the covers with his head on the pillow, she settles down, curls up next to him and goes to sleep.

Hmmmmm, sounds like LOVE to me!!!

I agree, it's probably because he's unnuetered. I hope you get him nuetered soon, so you can sleep again in peace!
