Hey all.. It's that time again!

I figured I'd start accepting entries for the calendar. Can we set a few rules though?

Photo MUST be clear.
Please just original photos. No photoshops - however, brightening/darkening, red eye changes, etc. are fine.
Photo MUST be 1600 x 1200 pixels minimum. I don't want to use anything smaller because it won't print out right.
Photo can be of multiple dogs, as long as it's just dogs.
ONE entry per PT Member, lets give everyone a chance to be in the calendar.
Once you send your photo to me, you're claiming it's ownership as well as giving me the permission to use it.

Lets make the deadline for sending in photos September 1st.

Send all photos to [email protected] - WAIT! Keep reading before you send..


PLEASE include the following in your subject line:
"Dog Calendar - <MONTH YOU WANT TO BE FEATURED>"

In the body of the e-mail include the following:
Owner Name:
PT Member Name:
Dog Name(s):

A few photo tips:

-Outside lighting usually makes for the best picture.
-Headshots will make your dog more prominent in the calendar.
-The less background clutter, the better the shot. Flowers, scenery, etc are a nice touch.
-If you have more than one dog, try getting them in one photo so no one is left out.

I think I'm going to be able to buy a calendar this year, so, I'll be participating! :) YAY! I was bummed I couldn't do it last year, but, this year is better! I have FInn's pictures on a disc, so, once I get them on the computer here, I'll pick the one I want to submit. Or heck, now that I have a slightly better camera at my disposal, I may just have to take a new one specifically for the calendar! 2006's looked absolutely amazing, so, I'm stoked about this one! :)

That's because I am not depending on anyone for anything here. If someone says they're sending in a picture, and doesn't, it won't hurt me. However, if someone doesn't send a gift swap (which we have had problems with kiddies not sending) then it will come out of my pocket and other's pockets to send.


It's not like you CAN'T enter the gift swap - just have your parents call! Your parents should know what you're doing on the net, anyways. :)

Kay, my only suggestion is it would be nice to have the major holidays marked. I messed up on planning something because I didn't realize it was a holiday since they weren't marked on the PT calendar. :o It had a couple people in a tizzy.

For those of you with multiple dogs, how did/do you decide what month to choose to feature your photo?

I can't decide what month to feature mine in, none of them have the same or even close birthday month.
I'm thinking of spring, summer or fall, because the picture will be of them outdoors & the scenery will be summer like. (haven't tooken "the" picture yet).

i sent a few because i wasn't too sure if a couple of them were what you wanted, i chose August at the start but realised it had been taken so iv'e picked Feb, i'm happy with any month though.

i was going to send a close shot of her face but i'm not sure if her eye's were clear enough.

There is no post requirement. :) The only thing I ask, which isn't mandatory - whoever submits a photo, please purchase a calendar. If not, save the space for those who really want to buy a calendar with their pet in it. ;)

The photo is fine, as long as you have it in a larger size. :)

I had a hard time changing my size too riz, I don't even know if I did it correctly but I took a picture from my scan file and edit it, from their I changed the size but when I looked at the pic it was huge so I don't know if mine worked either. Do you have any type of editing tool for pictures? I use my HP Image Zone.....

It's best if the photo is originally the size I need. If you make a small photo large it reduces the quality anyways - and ruins the point of having a large photo to print.

As far as I was aware, the fact that your dog is in the calendar does not mean you have to buy one.
HOWEVER, as mentioned,they are for sale for most of the year, so as soon as you can afford one, you could purchase one.

I have not submitted my dogs, but sure bought one last year, and will do so again this year.

Yes you order it, when it is ready.
Last year some of the proceeds went to Kfmr local animal shelter.
I think the price was around 20 dollars per calendar plus shipping.

I sent in a picture of my dog last year to the *dateworks* calendar and they sent me in the mail saying that they would be using my dog's picture in their 2007 calendar! If any of you guys get one of them look for my dog's photo. Her name is Gretta and she is a black poodle! :)
