Sweet Bella has bone cancer.

Awful news.

:( :( :(

It started as a limp but when my boss got her checked out, the cause was clear. She took her to the University Vet Oncology department today. They are waiting for other test results to see if she is a good candidate for amputation. (checking if they see methastasis) If not, she may be put down tomorrow. The vets think she is in a great deal of pain. The cancer has eaten away 85% of her bone.
I love her so much. She is like my dog too.

Prayers that Bella is no longer in pain very soon, whichever way it has to go. Prayers of strength for her mommie. So very sad.

Thank you.
Yes, Bella and Jax come to work every day and they are Beenies buddies.
I've posted several times about all of them together.
I'll be taking Jax home with me later and hope for the best.

Here is Bella with Beenie and Frankie.
Frankie and Bella were almost kissing.

Such devastating news. My first foster had osteosarcoma. Things happened so quickly.
My heart goes out to Bella.

and the lungs are the usual site, then a Chemo protocol using Doxorubicin for the maximum 5 treatments will give the dog a median time of 1 yr survival. For most of this period one would expect a remission, and a high quality of life for the dog. Cisplatin can be used in conjunction with Doxorubicin for a slightly longer survival time, but Cisplatin tends to be a nasty drug per nausea. The side effects of Doxorubicin are easily controlled with Metoclopromide.

Thank you for your support guys.
I have bad news.
Bella will not have the surgery because her chances of survival afterward are very slim. She will be put down soon. I don't know when. :'''(

I have to put my heart out to you, your boss, and Bella.

When my dog, Katie Lynn, developed Cancer 3 years ago, I cried while at the Vet the day she was put to sleep. 3 years later, and I still feel a ting of guilt for not being able to be with her when she passed. I felt like I was going to faint just thinking about it.

This is one reason that I can't give my heart to another dog, I'm the sort of person who becomes so attached to any animal, that their passing puts me into a deep depression.

Viewing the beautiful dogs on this web site assure me that I must be braver. stronger, realistic.

I sure do wish I could pet Bella, or, whisper gentle words into her pink ear.

Oh please understand that I am not attempting to make you feel worse, rather, that I am feeling your anguish at this moment.

I thank Karen and Paul for providing each of us with an outlet to voice our joys, our sorrows, and our connection to each other through our pets.

Please hug Bella for us . I am thinking of her every minute today.

I am so sorry to hear about Bella. I posted on here a few days ago for the first time ever. I just lost my wonderful, lovable Rottweiler, Rock to bone cancer. He was fine that morning and in extreme pain by the same evening. I said good-bye to him a day and a half later. Please just remember this, no matter what...........It sounds like Bella is very loved and has had a great life. So many dogs have not had this. Please comfort yourself and Bella's owner by knowing that this dog has been loved and treated wonderfully. That's the best we can do!

I'm so sorry I neglected this forum. Needless to say, my heart has been torn reading about beautiful Bella. I remember her well from your past posts, the gorgeous Borzoi. Her eyes always melted my heart. You and your boss have my upmost sympathy. I know nothing we can say will help relieve the pain. i can only pray she goes peacefully and safely to be bridge.

Before going to work today, I went and got a chance to see her.
Even if she is on pain meds, she seems really alert and bouncy (especially when she saw me). After a bit she got tired and went to lay down.
That sweetheart has an unbelievable will to live.
I hope it she has more good days, even though we know the end is probably closer than we want to believe.
