Laurie, that sounds good to me, I'll have the same. It has been so hot here, I have just wanted to stay inside next to the air conditioner. Something ice cold would be wonderful!

Willie :)

We do have sunny spells here - in between light showers, but I'll just pretend I'm sitting amongst you all on Laguna Beach with a large cold Pina Colada. :D

06-01-2006, 08:17 AM
I'll have one of the cabana boys bring it right over Randi. Mario - your little surfer dude shorts are cute but watch Randi's drink if you are going to use your skateboard while serving  and don't nab the cherry off the top!!!

Any good fishing out that way????

Sunny So-Cal I could use this right about now. I'll get my SPF 8000 for my pale Oregon skin (where we don't tan, we rust ;) ).

Its nice to have Edster joining us today. Richard - how about a pitcher of slushies - my treat. :D

What size and color Sara? Perhaps there are some in the L&F :D *umm, Sara? used shoes? nah ~ never happen* ;)

Randi

Are "we" going swimming? Then, we'll need a cork belt to put around me, or you won't see me again. I can swim about 3 meters, but only if someone is close and can rescue me. On second thoughts, I think I'll just sit in the sand with my drink and watch you lot. :D

If someone brings a blender, I'll make a yummy Gazpacho for all. :)

RedHedd

Ooh! Gazpacho! Shrimp! Flip Flops and SPF 8000! A vat of iced tea and a cabana boy to fan me and I'm all set! :D

Lady's Human
06-01-2006, 04:46 PM
The SPF 8000 we can arrange (SPF 55 okay?) but the cabana boy is going to have to be orc. :D

Pitcher of slushies anyone?

Karen
06-01-2006, 04:53 PM
Don't think I need to see the orc in shorts! It's hot and muggy here today, so I'll be in the water! Randi, you can swim by me if you want, I promise to keep you afloat!

RedHedd
06-01-2006, 06:05 PM
Oh dear! Orc in Shorts! :D The visual I get .... :p Oh wait! Mario is in shorts too - he looks so cute with those little furry legs! :)

It's hot and muggy here too - very weird weather. If I didn't know better, I'd say it's earthquake weather.

SPF 55 will work just fine with this strange cloud cover we have.

Ah, a nice relax on the beach may be just what I need.

The blood pressure has shot up again so off I go to the doctors in the morning to "discuss" my meds.

I'll grab a cvc and just sit here with my toes in the sand and watch you all bob about in the water.

Mario has offered to do "mouth to mouth" if anyone has a need of it!!! :D

Sounds like my idea of a good time!! The weather has been nice here too...not too hot or cold oddly enough. The clouds have lingered all day...its felt like it wants to rain but just isn't.

The weather has just been wierd all year thus far. Oh well, as long as its nice and sunny the second weekend in June....I'll be happy :D

Hope yall are having a good day!

Good morning everyone - it is yet another great beach day! So nice to wake up to brilliant sunshine instead of May Muck........(cloud cover)!

I have a surprise for you girls - a team of cabana boys will be available all day. They are well trained and will assist you by bringing you drinks or towels or a chair. They will be passing out yummy food too.

I hear some of them are life guards so Randi - maybe you want to tread into the water and yell "Help" - the blond one named Tad is looking pretty good! :D

Sorry I haven't been around much - it's a bit crazy at my house this week.

Randi
06-02-2006, 10:15 AM
Aww, it's tempting to take Mario's hand and walk right into it - that is IF the water temp. is about 80 Fahrenheit and no big waves!! Karen, thanks for the offer, I'll definately stay close to you, I bet you're a good swimmer! :) I must warn you though, I nearly dragged my girlfriend down many years ago, holding onto her.

Then, after the swim, I think it would be a good idea to dig in to the food and have Tad and his mates serve drinks. :D

MOFF, I'm sorry about your BP, hope it will go down - without additional medicine.

Even our Chicago girl is joining the ranks of Californians. :D :D We are wimps out here if the water is too cold.

Now if you are from Scotland or Copenhagen - I am sure you think there is something wrong with us if we call it "cold".

Tad or Biff, could you please go over and apply some lotion on Slick?
Uh, I am not sure where she wants it rubbed on.........maybe you had better ask her first! ;)

Cold=taking a bath in the ocean on Iceland.

Ocean water in the US latitudes is merely brisk!

Sniff I was only thinking of others. Of course the water isn't too cold for a hearty soul like me! Why back in Chicago we would jump into Lake Michigan when it was -30 degrees and the snow was..... :D

Of course Slick wants it rubbed on....all over! We don't want anything too hot.... ;) ;)

Spoken like my mother's son.

Often the North Atlantic IS cold - - espcially in the spots where there's no bay or cove to let it warm up a little. But Ma would go in first, and say "C'mon in! It's just brisk!" And so we'd jump in to find the water was so cold we'd just about bounce back out!

Ain't no such thing as cold water in California, is there? The CA water I've been in was like bathwater temperature!

Randi
06-02-2006, 11:58 AM
I can assure you that Sara's tub has the right temperature!! So if it's too cold in the sea, I'll retire to there - and then I can have Don serve me drinks and spray sunlotion on me, and you won't believe it ...... I can sit in a blue armchair at the same time! :D

I know exactly the movement you mean, Karen, where people jump in and jump out so fast that it looks like a film being run backwards! The water can be awful cold round here. If you wade in, you can feel like your legs and caught in a vice!

Either she is talking about Baja California (southern tip) or Karen likes REALLY, REALLY cold baths..... :D :D :D

ES,

Chalk it up to a childhood swimming in the north atlantic. Our mother loved the beach, and we went regardless of the water temp. If Ma dove in and said "It's brisk" we knew we were going to freeze, but got used to it. :D

anyone for some steak on the grill? Bring a pitcher of slushies over and I'll start cooking!

Only been in the Pacific at Venice Beach, San Diego and Aņa Nuevo. (And in Hawai'i, but I wasn't counting that, as it's not CA, and is even further south!)

You've gotta keep in mind that I grew up with the ocean meaning the North Atlantic, and we usually hit the water in Rhode Island, Maine, or off Rockport, MA, not in the sheltered and (slightly) warmer waters of Massachusetts Bay. Ma like "real waves" - so colder water was inevitable. In fact, Dad would yell us in to shore when he noticed lips turning blue from cold.

Hee hee - did a Google for ocean temperatures, and found the attached graphic representation of water temps where we swam: the light blue places!

LOL I know that! I got sucked into an undertow at that very beach. Of course I had no change of clothes :p

Lake Tahoe is pretty darn cold...its almost as if the darn lake just melted a day before! The lake never changes more than 5 degrees from winter to summer.

Scary, ain't it?

I'd ask for cabana girls for equality, but LOH might not appreciate that.... :D

Mario, help me clean up in here too?

Lady, yes, you can help wash dishes.

Omelettes and Irish coffee anyone?

Late afternoon, a cool and rainy day. Anyone wanna join me in a pot of blueberry tea?

And for those on the beach, we can make iced blueberry tea - anyone game? No, Mario, not you, and no, there are no cherries involved. Why don't you go help the Orc with those towels.

gini
06-03-2006, 04:50 PM
Iced blueberry tea sounds great! We have been playing beach volleyball and my legs are killing me. I had to leave the game because Richard and Slick kept knocking us down lobbing the ball over the net. It is the pitts to be so short!

Mario, you and the orc play nicely together when you want to.............just look at the cute towel tent that you have made..........draped all over the beach chairs.

Oh no, Mario, why are all of the women's purses in there?

Anyone wanna skip the beach today and come to The Muttlies yard? :p We've got a pool, a hot tub, a bistro set in our garden, and we're in the process of putting in a waterfall. :p

Just be careful, if you don't want to get wet, DON'T sit by the pool! ;)

I've heard blueberries are good for high blood pressure so fill me up, please?

Not a good check up yesterday. Won't drag you all down with all the boring details.

Mario, I know you love blueberries. Would you like a sip of my tea? Just a sip. Hey, come back here with that!!!
