Just wondering how many people have ipods. :)

Yep, I have a black nano. My first one broke  so this is the second. But I like it. I need to put a couple more songs on it soon.

Cool! I want one so bad. But here in the states they cost $250 for a 30gb which is the kind I want (not sure how many pounds that is :o ). I don't want video and I will settle for a 4gb nano but I want it in white with a blue case. :)

Yup, Paul gave me one for my birthday. I love it - I made a "peppy songs" playlist to exercise by, and a "quieter" list to work by, and so on! I so love being able to reorder albums the way I want them to be, and skip songs I don't like.

I know that is why I want one because it is easier than cd's to keep up with! ;)

Nope, and I have no desire for one. I have an mp3 player, and it suites me fine. I'm too cheap for ipods, anyway! ^__^

I don't have one but I'd really like an Ipod or something similar to put all of my CDs on. I like that they're small and portable, just too expensive for me.

I have 14.5 hours worth of songs (262 items) on my iPod (time to update it, as I just downloaded this week's free song from ITunes, and I like it. All that takes up not even 1 Gig (986 mb), so even a 4 GB would probably take you a while to fill!
I prefer my iPod to the radio - no commercials, and I get to choose what's on when! No annoying fundraisers or anything!

Yup! I got a 60gb black video Ipod for my birthday in Feb from my fiance. That thing is like surgically attached to my hip, I practically don't go anywhere without it....

I like it to work out to or relax with, but I don't think I would buy another one just because it's SO ANNOYING that you have to "convert" all of the .wav files to itunes format. We have practically an entire hard drive full of music and so I just pick stuff I really like to convert or it would take months.

I hate that all my CDs are everywhere and I can't keep track of them. I had the $100 shuffle but after a year of fully abusing it and putting it through the washing machine and dryer, it finally konked out on me :(
I'm a $50 apple store gift card twards my black nano. That's what I wanted for Christmas but I thought it was too much for one gift so I asked everyone for giftcards towards the purchace of my black nano. Guess what, my mom got a black nano for Christmas

I have the 4g nano, my mom gave it to me as an xmas gift. I love it, I mostly use it in the car when I'm making long drives but it's also really nice when I'm traveling.

I didn't get an Ipod (can't use it at work) but I did splurge and get a new stereo for my car that has a jack to plug my computer into so I don't have to listen to the radio OR change CDs. That way I can use the laptop for a nav system and use it as a stereo at the same time.

I have the 30g video, and it's my favorite toy! :D
I'm going to use it to create a slideshow for my parents' anniversary party--I'll scan a bunch of old photos, transfer them to the iPod, set up a music playlist with their favorite tunes, cable the iPod to the TV, and we've got party entertainment!

I bought my daughter the 30g video Ipod for her birthday and it got stolen at school. Mind you this is a pretty descent school so she thought someone wouldn't go through her backpack when her head was turned.
Anyway she wants another one but there is no way I am spending that again, can anyone recommend an mp3 player? She liked the ipod because it was loud. My other daughter loves her mini but I don't think they make those anymore.

I've heard good things about the Zen. Alexa just ordered one for her trip to London, it should come in soon so I'll let you know what she thinks of it. It's a good price and it can hold up to 500 songs. I think this is the one she ordered.

I personally want a video ipod (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2118083&cp=&pg=2&origkw=ipod&kw=apple+ipod&parentPage=search) but at that price I doubt I'll ever be buying one

There's a Nano version that's under $70, the prices for the old ones come down whenever they introduce a new model.

No, but I have a creative zen touch. Which is SO Much better, much better quality, and the price - cheaper! Besides, when I want a music product I will go with a company who specializes in music. Who better than Creative, a company founded on MAKING SOUNDCARDS. What does Apple speacialize in? Computers. Not sound, computers.
Besides its been a year or so and now MANY MANY MANY people are complaining about how their ipods are breaking, crapping out, falling apart for no reason... while my creative zen touch is still as good as the day I bought it.
With Apple... you are paying for the name.. that's it

Can you post a link to a product page for it? My shuffle lasted through me dropping it a thousand times and once throwing it at the wall ( :o I can get a bit short tempered at times) and it even worked for a few weeks after it went through the wash

my radio stations have the most obnoxious commercials in between EVERY song, plus, I like a wide variety of music, most of which isn't even played on the radio, plus, my CDs are out of control. I tried to convince myself that the radio is good enough but when I had my shuffle it was like my best friend.

Creative Zen line:
http://www.creative.com/products/welcome.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&
Oh and.. Creative makes the Zen :)
Also, before anyone comments that the Zens look like the iPods... Apple took the prototype for their iPod FROM Creative in the first place, so if anyone is "copying" anyone, Apple "copied" Creative (but had legal permission to take the prototype from the Creative Jukebox lol)

Yep. I got tired of carrying books of CD's to and from the car, etc. I've burned most of my CD collection to the iPod. The other thing is I can't see buying a whole CD for one song. I can go on iTunes and buy single songs.

Probably not, because Apple products ONLY work with apple software  Not sure if its the other way around, but I DO know that LOTS of other products out nowdays (windows media player, winamp to name a few) all are adding support for both Apple AND Creative MP3 players, as well as others.

This is off topic but I find it interesting that no one voted that they didn't know what an ipod is, but in another poll several people had never heard of global warming... http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=106044
Whatever you think about ipods, Apple did a great job marketing them!

Actually you can do that with a CD too, just burn the song right to the CD. I don't know what sites though, or how much they cost, but I tell my husband what songs I want and he burns them all onto a CD for me.

No, I don't have one. Right now I'm very content with my MP3 player. It can take LOTS of wear and tear. I'm dropped it on a hard floor, practically threw it across the room on accident (Don't ask ;)), sat on it, and MANY other things, and it's still in one piece!!! :p
This is what I have...

Close! Its a portable MP3 player. Kind of like a CD player except you load songs directly into it through your computer.

Yup - not a radio, it only has music on it that you put there. There are never any commercials, and you can make playlists to your own liking. You can also buy songs from Apple.com for example, that only cost 99 cents each, which is great when you just want one song, and don't need the whole album!
You can listen to it with headphones, or plug it into external speakers - I have one of those near where I exercise each morning, and use my "peppier songs" playlist to keep me going at a good pace.

You get a special computer program called iTunes with it so that you can by songs on line and load to your iPod. Some have video now so that you can watch music videos and stuff. You can have iTunes without the iPod like I do though. It is a little thing that plays music

I don't have one, but, I definitely want anything that will enable to listen to music all the time. Music is everything to me, I always have music on in my home and in my car, and, I'd love to have something to take with me on walks with the dogs or just into a store or whatever. Music is in my heart all the time, though, so, I can wait. ;) Yeah, I'm a dork, I just feel that strongly about it!
