I read in my local news paper that lingerie is one of the top items that dogs steal. LOL!
I am going to be looking after 2 dalmatians soon and they steal tea towels.
What about your pets, anything unusal?

Most of my pets do not steal, but our puppy, Ginger, steals just about anything left where she can get to them. She steals dirty clothes out of the baskets, steals old pairs of shoes, and yesterday she stole (and chewed up) a CD off the computer stand. :(
Reece is an underwear thief!!!!
Lolly is an angel and doesn't steal things.
Shiloh won't steal so much as misplace things for me
And the little rascal Tobi steals anything he can reach (which isn't much!! Hehe!)

My dogs love to steal socks and clothes, food containers from the trash, and dinner from my son every chance they get. I won't mention the grossest thing they ever stole, but it came from the bathroom trash. My cat only steals small things that you'll need later... don't lay that screw down for a sec or else...

Sadie used to steal my underwear but now that she's mature she steals garbage. If I forget to put the garbage can back under the sink boy does she let me know it!

panties & socks are her fav
tshirts, pants, bras!,anything with a tag in it. She likes to chew on them...
Garbage was a big one untill i found bitter apple!
Toilet paper.. Oneday i was getting out of the shower and she went running downstairs with a Double roll of it and ripped it up all over my newly cleaned house! Now i hide it on her :D
Anything really.. But i have taught her Drop It and she will drop it.. So no more chasing her around the house while she has my bra hanging out of her mouth :D

Sadie will try to steal food...usually by licking off dirty plates on the dinner table. Cincy will steal just about anything! Her favorite though is anything fuzzy...laundry lint, socks, strings...I told Ralph we should have named her "Whitney" after Eli Whitney :)

When he was a pup, Eli was the classic lingerie stealer. Here's what we caught him with one day (and yes, the "unmentionables" pictured are mine! :o )...

Fritz will steal anything. As long as it's on the floor, it's fair game :D He's chewed underwear, bras, panty hose, socks, earrings, a pair of glasses.

Drake is a big theif! He loves to steal my panties and can not resist taking un attended food (no matter how high or back on the counter it is!)

When Buddy was a puppy, everything left down within
reach was fair game for him. He especially loved taking
the 'remote' & running with it throughout the house.:D
The biggest thing he's ever stolen, I don't ever want
back..........my heart.;) ;)
As a puppy Bella stole anything she could fit in her mouth. These days it's usually just tissues out of the small trash can. This picture shows the largest thing she has ever stolen. I apologize for the quality of the photo but it was taken at dusk. A squirrel had chewed a hole in this lid and it made it oh so easy for her to grab. Unfortunately as she was running across the yard (away from me!) she couldn't see a thing! :D

For the first year we had my dog, she couldn't stop stealing slippers, if someone was over and put them on she would try to take them off and steal them or would wait till they took them off and would take them, (she doesn't do this anymore). She also likes to take socks. But what my mom really hates and I think shes going to kill my dog for (hehe) is taking the tea towels. we can't keep any clean ones. No matter where we hide them or put them she findes them and runs around with them, ( hopefully she will grow out of this too).

Smokey likes baggies of any kind. Doesn't matter if it has treats or trash or other stuff that you keep in baggies in it!
Pork Chop was a major undies stealer when he was younger.

Too funny!! We have a golden retriever, Otis, who absolutely loves to steal dryer lint...I don't know why he enjoys it so much but we've got to keep a close eye on the waste basket when we're in the laundry room! He's also a sock/underwear thief and I think his funniest caper was when he was about 3 months old. He came prancing out of the bedroom with a pair of underwear just as proud as can be and promptly got his paw caught in the leg elastic slingshotting the underwear up and onto his head. Because they were also hooked around his leg - he was stuck! What I wouldn't have given for a camera at that moment!! :D
This is an old picture of Otis from last summer - I need to get his new ones online!

Mommyofotis,
Your story of Otis is hilarious.:D :D I also wish that
could have been caught on camera... Welcome to Pet Talk.
Do you have a regular pic of Otis that you could post?
Pam,
I had no idea that Bella was such a 'free-spirited' gal.
She has 'tons' of personality. Very cute pics...:D :D

Rosie's the thief in the family. She LOVES, I mean, LOVES to steal socks @ any chance she gets. Oh, and food? Yes, she'll swipe it off the table if noone is around. Milk? I swear she *has* a thing for it. If I leave a cup full of milk or chocolate milk on the table, she'll knock it down and drink the REST of it, then goes back what she was doing and I come back, and I see it EMPTY, then I look to Rosie and she's just either sitting or laying, looking at me as if she didn't do anything! - Rachel

One of my college roommates had a dog that loved to steal dirty underwear from the clothes hamper and bring it into the open, like say the living room. How embarrassing is that! My maltese enjoys stealing my pillow at night. That little booger sits on my head and slowly eases his way down the pillow until I am pillowless and he is asleep on my pillow. I just love that dog, I normally just let him slepp like that. He doesn't want the other pillow, only the one that I am currently sleeping on.

Oh, where to start. My Casey (RB) was a true retriever. The problem was that she "retrieved" things that weren't hers/ours. We used to live on a cul-de-sac and our yard wasn't fenced. She would go over to the neighbors' houses/garages and over time retrieved the following:
sneakers
golf shoes
barn jacket
underwear (long story)
cat poop in a brown paper bag (uh, another long story)
hand trowel
gardening gloves
$20 bill (after that I told her, Go fetch!!)
many assorted children's toys
snow shovel
pumpkin
box turtle (live)
She was always so proud to bring home her "finds" and we were lucky that our neighbors loved her and didn't mind since everything got returned eventually. Boy do I miss her!

My Lab Star is 100% retriever. Not matter what "it" is, she wants to go get it!: Especially if someone else wants it! In fact, not an hour or so ago, she "stole" my piece of apple pie off the counter, then took off with the saran wrap!!! Wow, is she fast! She ate if before I even knew it was gone! Food by far is her preferred object of thievery. A few Pet Talkers might remember one of my very first posts....the one about the day Star pulled a WHOLE unfilleted 10 lb. salmon off the bottom shelf of the frig. I wrestled her and it to the ground in the family room....guess who won??:D

My 1½ year old Irish Setter/Black Lab mix loves to steal ointment. Her favorite is antibiotic ointment. She got a hold of anti-hemmoroidal cream one time and that stuff really made her feel bad. I had to call the poision control center about it, they said she hadn't consumed enough to be hurt by it, but it sure did give her a belly ache. She'll chew up and eat pretty much anything in a tube, except toothpaste. She'll also tear up garbage bags and get all of the old food out of it. Another thing she'll take is things like phones, television remotes, guitar tuners, etc. I'm hoping one day she'll grow out of this, but it's not looking like it. It doesn't matter- I'll love her no matter what. Besides, when we come home, it's EXPECTED of her to have chewed something.;)
