Oh Pixy you have had such a terrible start to life, but never forget you are beautiful and are now loved by your human, and will be forever more.
Those nasty people who did that to you will never be able to see or be near you again, not all humans are like that, most are decent and would never hurt and animal and think that hurting animals is the lowest of the low.
Remember that even though now you have a disability, you are still wonderful, pretty and every bit the cat you were before.
You are a heroine for coming through such hardship...
Happy Cat Of The Day Pixy!!

Pixy, I can't believe anyone would do that! How absolutely horrible. :( :( They should be banned from keeping cats for life. God gave us the cat so we could pet the tiger. I have a Maine Coon and five other cats and I thank God for their comfort and friendship. You have a good mommy now and I know she will look after you and love you as is every cat's absolute right. Take care you darling sweetie. :)

I'm so sorry to hear what happened to Pixy! It's too horrible for words. I hope that someday soon she'll learn the joy of her family holding her. I wish Pixy and her owner the happiest life together!

:D Pixy! I hope that "person" is still in jail and will be for a long time to come... (I fervently believe that there should be special punishment  for animal cruelty perpetrators--e.g. eye for an eye...) Congratulations to a brave beautiful girl on her very special day :D I am also very grateful you found your forever home with an adoring mommy whom you can completely love and trust. I would love to see you kick that little leg high in the air-- GO PIXY! Our wonderful Cat of the Day :) :) :)

Oh, Pixie how adorable you are!!!

Your story first brought tears to my eyes, then I got so mad at your previous owners I'd like to give them a swift kick in the behind on your behalf. I hope they are locked up and the key is lost!!!!

I'd love to give your current guardian a big hug for giving you the loving home you so deserve!!!

Congratulations, sweetie, on being our special Cat of the Day!!! :D

It's beyond disgraceful what was done to you, you beautiful kitty. As far as I'm concerned, an animal abuser/torturer should suffer exactly what they did to the animal (go without food, live outside w/out shelter in bad weather, etc.) so they can try and develop some understanding of what they inflicted on an innocent animal. I am glad that you are now in a loving home and I hope and pray that you will be granted the peace and happiness that will allow you to escape from your nightmarish past.

Pretty Pixy! What horrible purrents your previous owners were. I'm glad they were punished, but it's not enough.

I'm so happy you have a wonderful new home with loving purrents who treat you like the royalty you are. Maine Coons are very special cats (I'm not prejudiced at all :p ) Enjoy your special day as our COTD.

Hi. I just wanted to tell you that I have a tripod, too.. My Colby is missing a front leg. He's had 2 surgeries. The first one left him with a stump, and he still tried to use it all the time. The second surgery took the stump as well as his shoulder blade.. He walks much better, and can even run up and down the tall cat trees with the rest of my cats. I would recommend you check into having her whole leg removed. It will make for a much easier life for her!

How could she ever, ever, EVER trust again if now (in a loving, furrever home) her beloved new mommy had her put to sleep, only to wake up with NO leg at all, putting her through another mutilation? It would be different if illness necessitated such drastic treatment but that doesn't sound like it is the case at all.

I hope the monster who cut off her foot does not have any other show cats ... or any pets or any children to take out this vile destructive temper on. It would be nice to think such a person would be in jail but I doubt that is the case. I also hope all cat clubs have banned her from participation in ANY show event, ever - and that does sound like an achievable goal.

Darling, sweet, precious Pixy!! My KatMa is very ill at the knowledge that a human could cut off your foot   Her wish is to have one hour with that human. KatMa would cut off not only one foot, but both hands so that person could never, ever harm another animal.

We sincerely hope this person does not have children because if one can willfully harm you, we don't want to think what could happen to children.

Now sweet Pixy, this is me, Norman talking: you are very purrecious, beautiful and wonderful. Thankfully your furrever Momma will always put your welfare first, taking the best care of you and loving you every nano-second of your life.

In her own words:
Pixy is very dear to my heart, and brings much joy to my life. I loved reading that, purr-purr!

Live long, beautiful Pixy, loved and cherished by your Momma and everyone in her family. May every second you live be filled with love, tenderness and excellent care. You are more beautiful than any amount of Meows can say. At my Palace we all are in love with you -- Paw-Paw, me, Norman the Cat and KatMa. We're pretty sure everyone at PT loves you without reservation.

Have a wonderful day being our darling, precious Cat of the Day dear Pixy.

Dear sweet Pixie,
You're not alone in this world. My Flutter has three legs, as do her sisters -- Rosie and (coincidentally) Pixie :) Some horrible human cut off the girls' legs as itty bitty kittens, but they now know nothing but love and kindess, as you obviously do too! Reading what you do with your person sounds just like what my Flutter does to me. I'm so glad you found a wonderful home.

Enjoy your special day as Cat of the Day -- you certainly deserve it!

Dear precous Pixie

I'm in tears and enraged, reading of the unspeakable act of cruelty you were subjected to, Pixie:( It's beyond my comprehension how a supposed cat lover could do such a thing to a helpless creature:( But somehow, you managed to retain your sense of trust, your capacity to love; amazing. Sometimes I think we humans are unworthy of the unconditional love you furkids bless our lives with. Thank God you are now free from that monster, safe in the loving care of a human who will always and forever, without judgement, cherish YOU unconditionally. You're safe now baby girl:) Congratulations to our BRAVEST, most beautiful and deserving EXTRA SPECIAL Sunday Cat of the Day, Pixy!:) Please have your human give you a gentle hug and kiss for me!:) WE LOVE PIXIE!!!

What a shock it was to read little Pixy's story. I have never been a fan of Cat or Dog shows and feel some of the people that belong to these clubs are often fanatics that live their lives through their animals. Sadly in this instance the perpetrator of this horrible deed was most likely mentally ill, however that does not excuse the act. :(

Pixy, what a sweet and beautiful girl you are! Your fur looks so soft and I could spend all day petting you and listening to you purrrrr. I'm glad you are learning to trust your new family; there are people in this world who love cats, and all animals, for the wonderful miracles they are. Pixy, I wish all the best to you with many happy and healthy years with your family who loves you so much.

What a beautiful kitty! She deserves all kinds of love and treats.

Reading her story enraged me and then made me cry. I know I shouldn’t be, but I am shocked that someone would do that to an animal.

Thankfully she is now in a place where she is loved.

What a heartbreaking tale you have to tell, sweet Pixy, but as shocking as your horrifying encounter with that sadistic, cruel-beyond-belief breeder must have been, thankfully you survived and are now loved and happy. And you have been deservedly honoured as our most exceptional COTD, so try to erase the past from memory and enjoy a long, carefree life, beautiful and courageous girl! :)

I'm posting this a day late, because between my church singing gig and the play I'm in, I was out from 9 am to 9 pm on Sunday.

How I HATE those really awful stage parents! They certainly give a bad name to all the ones who love, care for and encourage their kids, both human and feline. And I really could hate anyone who could perpetrate such an act of cruelty on such a beautiful and innocent creature. :( I will pray that that inhumane human will recognize the error of his or her ways and resolve to amend his/her life.

Thank you for one pet lover to another for rescuing this kitty! It is horrifying the abuse that goes on in the world to animals and I would like to personally thank you for giving this kitty a good home.
