The lady who co-owns him said she never rides him because shes afraid of him. He kicks boards down and hates being alone. I've worked on getting him out on his own for a few months and now he can but she came up with the excuse that she doesnt ride him  She is so annoying with her excuses to get rid of him. Shes been looking at horses for a couple months now and went to see one last week that she really liked...and she bought him..hes not bit trained yet so the guys going to train him for another mmonth and in that time she has to sdell my precious baby Trigger. The things that bother me most is the reason why she is getting rid of him, they can all be fixed easily, and she asked ME to show him when people come interested cause I'm the only one who can really handle him. GRRRRRRRR I'm really upset and ticked off! But thiis girl who is freinds with the other lady and me said her barn is looking for a new school horse so she will talk to her about him. I'd still be upset but I'd be able to visit him then. The new horse is a 3 yr old Quater horse cheasnut colour(blahh) and I'm going to see him Tomorow at 9:30....She said she REALLY want me to have Trigger cause she knows he really likes me and how much I llove him but I just cant afford to have him :(
I just need some comfort and thought I'd tell you guys:(

why doesnt she just gives him to you?? free. keep him in her stable adn you can go whenever you want......Because she cant afford 3 horses and I cant afford his board and stuff , I got a new job and I only get 4 hours a week...I can barley pay partboard. She said she'd lease him to me but then theres the board problem, my mom was talking to my nana on the phone and said that if we put both our part boards together we could afford himi but then we'd have to share him, but she doesnt ride often anyways. We'd be 50 bucks short but I'm sure monthly we could make it up . I'm gonna talk to her.

I'm so sorry to hear this!! I wish there was some way for you to figure something out. When I only had one horse, I kept it at a different barn. In exchange for board and food, me and my sister cleaned the barn (they had anywhere from 4-7 horses at at time) but when we got a second horse, we had to start paying. Maybe you could work something out like that?? I know just cleaning the barn wouldn't cover all the fee's but maybe knock a few dollars off, and maybe you could offer to do something else for them...??

And the barn owners are paying more money out then they are getting already..:(

I went through the EXACT same thing with Player except it was sudden and she won't tell me where he went. If you need to talk or anything, pm me. What kind of riding do you do? Are you good? Maybe you could give other people lessons for some extra cash. Thats what my old instructor did, but she wasn't a very good teacher, she kinda skrewed me up. I've been reading Hunt Seat Equitation they have this section on teaching in the back, and when I think about it, my instructor I have now who is so good follows the book exactly. Also, at my old barn they charged $5 a pony ride but then they let us girls lead them around for 15 minutes and then we got a $5 tip. Maybe you could also clean tack for a little extra cash. I'm actually trying to save up to shareboard not this show season, but next year. It really sucks how expensive horses are. :( *sigh*

The only kid there is my sister and I already give her free leassons. Doing pony rides I'd love that (I was gonna do it for my sisters birthday) but my mom didnt trust Trigger even though hes FINE especially with someone leading him and him only WALKING. But she diodnt want to...maybe next year:rolleyes: Thanks everyone :(

If you were closer to me, I'd do the co-owner thing with ya. I love horses & only ridden a few times.. My friend & I worked our butts of on a crazy wild horse.. poor thing was abused & spooked easly.. after a few months my friend was able to ride him in a fenced off area.. I had to be around so if he freaked, I could run up & grab the rope (we tied on a rope so I could over power his head, as he was only a small horse).. he always calmed down once I got the rope & hugged his head.. he just needed some loving & ferm yet gentle hands

I'm so sorry to hear about this!:( I love Trigger's cheeky little face, the kind that all haflingers have;) He reminds me of a pony I sometimes ride. I feel so sorry for you as I know how much you love him. I hope he eventually finds a happy home.
Sorry to say this, but his real owner can't be a very competant horse-woman if she 'can't ride him'. And yet she is lucky enough to get horses as she pleases. The world can be a very unfair place sometimes.

If I had a car, it would take me about 30 mins to dive to your city... I need to become rich, so I can get my own horse & love him... I prob would end up walking him more then anything, as ummmm I'm scared of hights when I'm on one lol.. The last horse I was on was 17hh (I think) & I couldn't sit up.. I held onto his mane for dear life.. had fun & got to trot him (my friend owned him & she controlled him) & had fun bouncing about lol

Aww I'm so sorry Alicia. I'm absolutely terrified that's going to happen with me. I know I can't afford Dot on my own and my parents won't be able to buy her or anything either. But her owners still love her and care for her, I'm the only one that rides her though.
I'll be praying you can keep him!
