Pre-Road Trip Flutters!

Anyone else ever get fluttery ~ a mixture between excited and nervous - before road trips?


As most know - Kiara, my dad, and I are taking a road trip to Ohio/MI.

We're heading out at around 2 today. The first few days we'll be camping on a beautiful lake in Ohio. We'll be attending the PawzFest in Upper Sandusky on the 21st, quite a few PT'ers are going.

After that, we're heading to Michigan to stay with my aunt and her family, which includes a newbie, a Collie/Shepherd mix puppy! She is the one who came down here not too long ago, the one who had RB Teala. While in MI we're meeting up with Ramanth & K9Krazee.

The day after the MI meeting is the big Findlay meeting!

And on Memorial Day we'll be meeting up with Johanna & Kristen at a dog park, where Kiki will get to play with her favoritest pup Riley, and I will get to smooch all over Jonah! Be jealous ladies! :p

2 weeks, away from home, away from work........ -happy sigh-

My stomach has a million butterflies in it thinking I've forgotten to pack something. But then again, I think, as long as I have my camera and my dog I'm all set, huh?? *edit - Kiara wanted to remind me, that her flippy and tennis balls should be included in this.*

I am going to miss Simba and Nala so much. :( I cried last night because they can't come. I don't think Simba would have much fun anymore anyways, and Nala isn't too good on car trips, although she did it before. We just didn't want to bother my aunt with too many dogs.

So... hoping for a safe, safe, FUN trip! Can't wait to meet and see so many of you again!

I wondered where in Ohio you were camping also! Kay, you have my number...so, I am happy to post any update you want to. I generally don't take the 'puter home during the week, but, can post the update first thing the next morning!!!

We're camping at the Indian Lake State Park. :)

We're bringing the lap top, hopefully going to be able to check in at the campground - supposedly they have wireless internet.

Gee, I see Ohio is going to be extra rainy for us - according to weather.com. Getting us ready for hurricane season?

I just love road trips...I am usually just excited...figure what I forget I can buy, just make sure you have flashlights, something to cook on, propane, food, some benadryl for Kiara if she needs it, her paperwork and hey whatever else you can buy if you forget.

You will have a great time I can't wait to see pictures!

I hear ya Kay, I just LOVE road trips but I get extrememly nervous when I have to leave any of my critters behind, especially any dogs. Heck I'm not leaving until 8-9 days from now & I'm already nervous, thinking I'll forget to tell my pet/house sitter/friend some details, or that I forgot something, or that I will miss my other animals, etc...
But then again I am VERY excited.

I know everything will be just fine Kay, for you, me & everyone else! We will all do just fine, be happy & safe.

I forgot to say, my vet recommended benadryl for me to bring camping, we take the dogs out camping all the time and bubba gets car sick and its good to have in case of a bee sting.

I know you'll come back with great pictures, and, that you'll have fun! :) I totally get butterflies before a road trip, or a flight or anything. I leave tomorrow morning, driving to Texas. I'm nervous, too. It's more than just a week or two vacation, of course, so, I'm nervous about the hugeness of what I'm doing. But, even on weekend trips, I get stomach twitters. Be safe and HAVE FUN! :)

Have a safe trip Kay, Dad and Kiki :D. I know how your feeling at the moment, we leave for our roadtrip in 2 weeks time and everyone is soooo excited about it. 24 hours driving, not including doggie and human stops, gonna be fun ;).
