A piece of my heart was ripped out Sat when my beloved Shi died from complications due to pancreatitis. I'm devastated and all I do is cry when I remember the joy and happiness I had with him. His favorite place during the day was on a sofa cushion under his security blanket. If any of my other 4 dogs tried to jump onto the sofa, Shi would growl and bark his head off! He was the king of the couch and he knew it-all 12 lbs of him. At night his favorite place to sleep was in the crook of my right arm. Shi was a chihuahua/rat terrier mix. I adopted him and his pal Max Dawg from a shelter in Maine. They were both in the same cage and I couldn't adopt one and leave the other so I took both. I would tell them that they were the joy in my life and I don't know what I would do without them. Sadly, I'm experiencing what I'm doing without one of them. Rest in peace by the Rainbow Bridge my beloved little friend. You made me so happy and I'll miss you terribly.

I'm sorry for your loss. It always seems unfair that they go so soon when we still need them so much. Terribly sorry.

I see that this is your first post here. You have come to the right place to share your saddness and pain. People here can understand the extent of the sorrow and the emptiness in your heart. Please know that there are many of us here who want to put and arm around you and cry with you. We know this pain too well. Know too that your heart will eventually start to heal. Shi Shi knows how much you loved him.

I am glad that Shi was able to have you in his life. You saved him from the shelter and gave him all the love in the world. He is watching over you from Rainbow Bridge now. I know all too well the pain you are feeling. Remember all the good times you had with Shi and try to smile through your tears. Hugs to you.

I have just read your incredible story about your dog, Shi.

Your pain touched my heartstrings, so much --that I was compelled to respond.

Your Shi so reminds me of my dog, Foxy Jean, who died from Lyphoma , 5 months ago. I offer my prayers to you now . Healing from this loss is laborous, as one needs to feel a gentle hug from a stranger . Bless your happy memories with Shi. Hang onto those memories for yourself.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss.

I hope that your broken heart will heal in time, and that the wonderful memories of him will sustain you at this time. ..::LOTSAHUGS::.. for you and Max.

If you can, we would like to see a picture of Shi.

When you feel up to sharing a memory, spilling out your heart aches, searching for closure. We are here, we are here, we are here.

My heart aches along with those who have lost a true companion.

Bob,

For as long as I live, I will never, ever forget the first time I read that post about your dog Jeb.

I have to tell you this, underneath a different thread, when my other dog, Katie Lynn had to be put to sleep, we cremated her remains. I could not bring myself to view her dead and motionless body, and, it was February in Michigan,a frozen ground.

I intended on adding Katie Lynn's ashes with my own someday, but grief played a trick on me when Foxy Jean died on our bed. I buried Katie Lynn with her.

You have a remarkable way of healing a person who is so wounded !!!!

Yes, you have helped me face my own death . I don't want to die , but we all will one day. THEN----- We will run, and we will jump and we will play again. At Rainbow Bridge. thank-you my -good friend- at Pet Talk.
