Sunday, started out to be a wonderful day. Hubby and I took the fur kids for a hike. The fur kids were resting, my hubby was outside talking with a guy, I was cleaning up the house. I heard a couple of gunshots coming from our neighbors I really didn’t think much of it. I looked out the front room window my hubby and his buddy had a horrible look on their face. The fur kids were all standing on my bed going nuts. We have a perfect view of our neighbors from our bedroom windows. I went to my room to see what in the world was going on at the neighbors. What I saw horrified me I honestly don’t think I will ever get over it....
Our neighbor lady's daughter has been staying with her she lives in a fifth wheel behind her house. Her daughter owns a beautiful Akita. She is a drug addict she is addicted to pain pills and meth. She was still shooting the gun when I looked out the window. She was shooting her Akita. The poor dog was under her Suburban. I saw the dog dieing. Oh my gawd, I totally lost it. I was in hysterics. I went outside sobbing I asked my hubby is he saw what she had done. He was in a daze. The owner of the Akita started wailing after she did it. I have never in my life head anything come out of someone like that. It was like it was coming out of the depths of her soul. She was screaming "help me". I wanted to go over to her house but my husband wouldn’t let me because she is so strung out and she had a gun.
My hubby called the cops they went to the house then an ambulance came and took the girl away. I can NOT get over what I saw. I couldn’t sleep last night I cant get the imagine of that dog out of my head. How can I make it go away? I honestly cant handle it. :( :(

Oh, my word, that is just horrible. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I'm moving this into the Dog House, just too upsetting.
Hug your babies, that's all I can say, and volunteer to testify at her animal cruelty trial so she gets jail time as well as drug treatment and rehab.

Thank you Karen, I wasnt thinking real well when I posted this in Dog General. I have never seen anything so sad, ever. I have been saying prayers for the Akita's owner, and her mom. She is out of town she doesn't even know it happened yet. She is a huge animal lover like we are. I hope the girl gets some help. The Akita's name was King. :(

Why was there a gun ANYWHERE near this woman????
Whoever is responsible for that needs to do some jail time as well....

You know what? I've had that thought running through my head also. When it comes to someone that uses meth you can not trust them. They do NOT think like a normal person. I will watch my fur kids like a hawk. The girl still isnt home, maybe they took her to detox? I dont know.....

Oh my gosh how absolutely horrible! That poor pup - I agree with caseysmom, definitely keep your girls away from that house. I don't know how you can get the images out of your head - talking about it with someone, hugging your girls a lot, let it out by crying, just a few ideas. ((((hugs)))) I'm so sorry you had to see that :(

This woman was killing her own dog?? Or was it her Mother's dog? Either way....unbelievable. I wish you didn't see that. That must have been awful. That woman needs help. That poor dog. I feel so bad and so sad.

It was her dog. I think the lady finally went over the edge because that dog was her best friend, she had him with her at all times she never even left the house without him. It's a tragic thing for all involved. The poor dog had to pay the price in the end. :(

:( that is awful. at first, i thought i read that the dog was dieing under the truck, like it had been hit. and, she was shooting it because of that. :( that would be hard, too, but, not like this. when i realized she was killing it for no reason, that's just horrible.

Dear god that is so awful. I'm very very sorry you had to see that happen. I once saw a video of a horrible act of cruelty to an animal which I won't talk about, but whenever I think about it, I feel like I'm going to get sick. I can't imagine really seeing it. :( That poor dog, at least you were able to get that woman away from hurting anyone else. Take it easy, and give your dogs a special hug for me. I hope you can rest better soon. :(

[QUOTE The girl still isnt home, maybe they took her to detox? I dont know.....[/QUOTE]
Donna, if it would make you feel better to know the girl is locked up somewhere, try calling the police.Tell them you are a neighbor, witnessed the act and are concerned for your familys safety. They may tell you if she is locked up.
I'm so sorry you had to see all this. :( In time you won't think about it as much. It will come back to you as real as ever probably the rest of your life, but you won't dwell on it as much.
Living next to a druggie, I know all too well the fear and worry that goes along with it and have witnessed dog abuse(which I reported)I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you can deal with this, I have thought about you all day since I read this this morning. {hugs}

I am so sorry you and your husband had to see that. That poor sweet dog. This women needs to stay locked up. All I seem to be hearing is about drug addicts killing animals and people. Besides the fact they destroy the people around them. Yes defiently check that she is away. hugs to you.
