O.k. Well I don't have a digital camera soooooo this is how I did it.
Whenever I have my pictures developed I have them put on a cd. You can even take some old negatives and have them put on a cd.
Go to imagestation.com and set up an album. It is pretty easy you just make up a member name and password then they email you with a link to click to activate your account.
Now when you are in imagestation you may have to sign in with your name and password. Then there is a button that says....click here to add images to your album (or something like that)
Then on the bottom left of the page (Method 1) hit the my computer + key and more options will file down.
Then click on the cd icon.... mine says PIE2K [D:]
Then all the thumbnails for your pictures will download.
You can change the captions for the pictures and put a check in the small box to select the ones that you want to upload onto your album.
When you are done hit the continue button....AND WAIT AND WAIT.
When it is done it brings you back to your album and you have small thumbnails on the right hand side of the pics that downloaded.
Click on the one you want to enlarge it and right click on it and click on properties.
Click on the ADDRESS/URL and drag your mouse to highlight it.
Then right click that and copy it.
Then go to pet talk and in your reply there will be an IMG button.
Click that and right click in the box and paste the ADDRESS/URL in there, and hit o.k.
And thats it :) :)
Hope I made since...... Can't wait to see pics!!!!
(Now I don't have a digital camera so if you do the instructions will be different)
GOOD LUCK :D

lailamara, is this the picture you were trying to post? :) I noticed this when Randi tried posting some pictures of Fister too, but sometimes when you're pasting the address that you copied when you right clicked and then clicked on properties, sometimes additional "stuff" gets put after the .jpg that should end the address. If you picture doesn't work, go back in to edit your post and make sure you only have one .jpg ending your address name. If there are more, delete them. An easy way to see what I'm talking about is to right click on the little red x that comes up in lailamara's first post and check the address under properties, then right click on the picture above, and check out the address under properties. You'll notice that I deleted the .orig.jpg at the end of the address. Hope this helps!
Oh and BTW, lailamara, your babies are darlings! :)
Oh, and Sara, can't wait for more pictures of Tinky! I'm on my way over to your new thread. :)

IF the photos are stored on your hard drive - just upload them to http://www.netsnapshot.com (you'll have to open a free account with them, first).
If you no longer have the photos on you hard drive or on a disk; you can download (store) them from Webshots or Photogra back onto your hard drive. Click on each picture and select the "Save As:" option on the drop-down - then fill in an or select an address to store it On YOUR computer. After you have the photos stored back on your computer; then you can upload them to NetSnapShot.com.
As we speak, NetSnapShot.com will allow 'their' photos to be linked to and displayed on Pet Talk.
* Have the photo displayed on NetSnapShot and right-click ON the photo and select "Copy Image Location" after you right-click.
* Come back to your Pet Talk post and Left-click on the "IMG" clicker.
* When the data box appears, put you mouse pointer IN the data window and right-click to copy the photo address.
* Click "OK" and the box will close and your photo location will appear in you post with the (IMG) and (/IMG) tags in place.

Unfortunately Phred this is no longer true! I was in the process of doing this when Photogra told me I couldn't any longer do so. I had to beg them for special access to some photos I had (stupidly) stored no where else.
I'll see if Webshots will still let me store on my harddrive and then load.

Hmmm, sez Phred. ???
*I* just tried to download one of my Photogra.com photos - and they let me do it!
No error messages or any problem - when I right-clicked on the photo I got the drop-down box and just selected "Save As:" and copied to my hard drive.
Tried both a thummy size and the full image - both worked OK.
Are you sure you were Signed In to the site - not just visiting?? If you're signed in and can upload TO the site; you should be able to copy FROM it... ?
Don't understand why they'll let me do it and not you!
Did'ja stick your tongue out at em and make em  mad? :D

Phred,
I was signed in and "denied permission to right click." I THINK I was polite??? Here's verbatim their response....
"Due to properitary images that are on our site, we no longer allow users to right click to save photos to their album. Please email us with the photos you wish to save to your hard drive and we'll email you links to allow you to do so.
Thank you,

Well, uhhhm, I really have never used one of those websites that store photos for you, but I have myself encountered quite many of those sites that will "forbid" right-clicking. There is a very simple way around it, but I don't know if it'll work on these image hosters...
Try this:
Go to the page where you can see all your images (if that is possible even), and then click SHOW on your browser's windown (if you are using Internet Explorer that is) and then SOURCE (second to last on the list). Then you will get up a window (will probably open in Notepad) with the site's source code. Skim through all the HTML code until you find the area with the URLs to the images (will look something like http://www.imagehostersurl.com/mypics/mycat.jpg) and copy the URL and paste them in your IE window and you should be able to right click it no problem.
I don't know if your area with your images is protected by a password that you made up, but if it isn't then you can give me the URL to it and I can see if I can save them for you if you can't figure it out on your own.
Hope that helps!! :)

Ann! This is the URL I managed to get from one of my pics in Photogra. (was not allowed to right click either, so I went to source and copied the adress) I know it looks wrong, but can you tell me what it is?
http://www.photogra.com/index.cfm?p=showphoto&AlbumID=31963&ImageID=118691&RETURNTO=viewphoto&StartRow=1&kw=&pg=NO&d=1

Hello, Randi! I've just tried with the URL you provide (which is NOT wrong!! ;) ) but it doesn't work as the site still asks for a username and password to access the file. This is the part of the URL that identifies your pic's location (but indeed it is not a location in the sense a URL is, it is a command):
http://www.photogra.com/index.cfm?p=showphoto&AlbumID=31963&ImageID=118691
and the rest are more commands to the same script that locates and shows the picture:
&RETURNTO=viewphoto&StartRow=1&kw=&pg=NO&d=1
That's why it isn't so easy to perform Ann's instructions - they use a software called Coldfusion to manage the pictures and the whole site (I know because my job is, partly, webmaster and we use the same software here :p ), and I think nothing else can be done in that way
BUT another thing you could try to retrieve your picture is open the page (introducing username and password) and once you can see it on your browser, press 'Prt SC' key. That copies the whole screen. Then you can open any software you use to see/treat images, open a new file and then select Edit -> Paste (or just press keys Ctrl - V). Then you can crop the photo and paste it into another new (blank) file, and there you are!
Well, I know this is a stupid and irksome thing to do to retrieve your own photos - but it's the only thing I can think of now! Ah, and sorry for the detailed explanation... it's because part of my current job is HELPDESK  :D
I hope it was helpful... at least you know now that Your URL wasn't wrong!!
:D ;)
Nita
*grins at sirocco* If they couldn't do that view source thing I told them bout, I was gonna say that print screen tip :D Great minds think alike (or something like that) ;)
It still baffles me that there is a program out there that can prevent right clicking along with viewing source, but I won't be able to check it out since I don't have an account of my own or know someone elses info.
Well, I hope everyone manages to figure it out... I know I'd hate to loose my photos!

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help - but I think I need the last bit to make it work. LOL! I managed to get a picture into Photo Editor by using Print Screen - I even got the size andd colors right, but, from there I can't figure out how to get it on to PT. There's no URL to copy. I tried to copy the picture in Photo Editor, but I cannot paste that into PT by using IMG. :( so this is where it stands!

So many people have been so helpful to me so I will give it a try... just know there is probably a better way...
I made an album in Imaginestation. I'll leave how to do that to the instructions on their website!
In one window you have Pettalk and either Reply or Start Thread.
Left click on IMG. A window pops ups.
Now go to Imagestation in a separate window (one problem I have is I don't know the proper names for some things  ) and go to the photo you want to insert.
Left click and it will say view original and you will have an enlargement of the photo.
Go to the address and highlight
Now edit, copy and return to the Pettalk window.
Paste in the IMG pop up window and OK
It will go into the text box.
Delete duplicate http:// until there is only one
Delete at the end of the string .org.jpg
Submit and it should be there
Good luck.

A comment here* I'm sure I've done it like this and it worked!: Before you go to the address and highlight it, Right click >"Open in new window" - and THEN copy the URL. This way, the URL seems to get rid of some of the codes (commands?) unneccesary. Try it! ;) If any computer genious out there can explain this, I'm sure some of us will be curious to know! :D

I'm not supposed to be here, still getting caught up, but I wanted to post a quick, possible help. When you see your picture in Imagestation, right click on it, then click properties. Highlight the address starting the with http:// and ending with .jpg hold the ctrl button down and hit "C" which will copy the address. When you get back to Pet Talk, click on the "IMG" button and hold the ctrl button down and hit "V" which will past the address. When you click on "IMG" http: will automatically come up, but it will be blue meaning that if you don't click on anything else and just hit CTRL "V" your address will override the http: that is already there. It's easiest to do this with two windows open, one with Imagestation and your photos and one with Pet Talk. To do this, you simply click on the big "e" for Internet Explorer. Everytime you click it, it should open another window.
And Randi, once you get the picture back to your computer in Photo Editor (or wherever), you need to put it back on the web on a service such as Imagestation.com or a website of your own. The only way to get pictures to Pet Talk (that I know of) without putting them on such a service is to use the "attach file" option.
Hope this helps.
I took 108 pictures over the weekend that I am in the process of getting off my camera and on the web for all my Corvette buddies to see. All with what seems to be an extremely slow computer. Can you say major frustration? So I should be back soon to help if anyone has anymore questions, but everyone has had great suggestions here.
And Edwina is absolutely dah-ling She is a real cutey. :)

Pardon me for intruding, one and all, but I just thought I'd try out the Imagestation site myself...I'm currently posting pictures from netsnapshot.com, but the images I keep getting are rather small, not to mention that the site itself is snail's pace slow. From the preview alone I can already see Marsha in all her furry glory. Thanks to whoever suggested (I already forgot) the site!!!

From the picture it's amazing to think that she started out life as a stray in an in oil field 7 years ago (her fur was smudged with a little grease and she had the aroma of crude oil!!!)...she's cleaned up (and grown) quite nicely since then!
