How can you tell if a cat is playing or serious? I know that is a dumb question but I haven't had kittens in 6 years and was wondering. What are the signs that they are mad? I took it as a sign that Myles was coming around last night because he was cleaning the kitten. Thanks for all your advice!
P.s. How do you put photos on a thread? lol sorry

Mad- they usually lay their ears back- but that can also be during aggressive play- which you would also want to discourage. A really mad cat, obviously, is going to growl and hiss.
There is probably a post about pictures- if there is a help section to the forum. Upload your pics to photobucket, copy the URL, then on here click that little picture button and paste it in.

Airplane ears, when their ears go back and lay flat, as well as other body language. Sometimes the hair on their back, near the base of their tail, will stand up. You may also have a slapping of the tail on the floor (a sign the cat is definitely annoyed) as well as low volume growling.
