Well, Soni is back from an all day trip at the vet! He did have a rather large abcess. She shaved his paw and part of his leg, after getting a little bit o' sleepy juice, and cut out some necrotic tissue. She cleaned the wound, gave him an antibiotic injection, sutured him up, and reversed sleepy time. He has to have one mg of Amoxidrops twice a day until the bottle is gone. He is doing a considerable amount better, even being a little bit like he was before the whole thing happened! So, in short, yay!

I'm so glad to hear that Soni is doing much better.:) I hope that he continues to do well and that he makes a speedy recovery. I'm also glad that you took him to the vet to be checked out.:)

He is doing so much better that he decided to knock over the gerbil cage about five minutes ago (and made a run for it!)! Thank you! I must say, hubby is glad that his ( ;) ) kitty is okay. He babies that cat so much but shh don't tell either of them I said that. I'm glad too! It could have been so much worse especially if I hadn't spotted that blood.

Cats are so good at hiding illness. Our Norton had a HUGE abcess on his tummy and since he is a long haired, could not see it. I picked him up and felt the lump and called the vet STAT!!! But you took good care of your boy until you could get to the vet!!! GET WELL SONI!!

Hmm, I think they did TOO well. Soni felt so good today that he started doing that weird little ferret-like hop when Isis ran at him. *starts laughing* It was so funny. She ran at him, he hopped, and she stopped, looked at him as if to say "WTF?" Also, he felt pretty stud-ly today (if you catch my drift. he's neutered though, so no worries!). Thank you very much!

Wow, I can imagine that would be pretty frightening! Soni is (semi) long haired, too, and I did not notice the two abcesses on his stomach until my husband felt them. Thank you and thank you!
