Thought I'd let you all know, Brodie has gone 4 days in a row without vomiting!!! Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday!!! If he doesn't today, it will be FIVE!

That is a RECORD for him, since he got out of the hospital! Up until now, the longest he's gone is two!

Fingers & Paws crossed!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

I am relieved but almost afraid that if I talk about it or say anything, he's going to hear me and PUKE! Me and hubby were whispering last night *four days!* so he wouldn't hear us, LOL . . . just so it wouldn't jinx his record! Even if he does throw up today, 4 days is a sign he's improving. The vet said it would take him 3-6 weeks . . . but we should see him vomiting less. So far, she's been right. :)

***Yesterday (Tuesday) made five days, vomit free!!!***

Now we're going for six! I can hardly believe it!

He's up to 16 pieces for breakfast first thing in the morning.

Then he gets 6 pieces every 3-4 hours. I tried feeding him snacks 2-3 hours but he didn't seem intersted. He does better in the 3-4 hour range.

At 9 p.m. he gets 1/3 of a can of wet food. I know that's not a lot but he was eating a lot less of that too! He was eating like 1/5 of the can at a time!

Then one more tiny snack of 5 pieces before we go to bed - usually around midnight - we go to bed late around here. :)

So far, so good. He has lost some weight but I guess that's to be expected since he went from pigging out to eating probably what a normal cat should. I think he's at about 11 pounds now. Hopefully he won't loose much more.

Thanks guys for your continued support. I will keep you updated as long as we keep this streak going! I'm just so excited!!! :D

EIGHT DAYS!!!

I'm just so excited!

Still not mentioning it around Brodie, afraid he'll get nervous about it, LOL . . . but I don't think he logs onto the internet much anymore. At least I don't think so.

I guess if he starts vomiting again, I'll know differently!

Fingers crossed! Today will make day nine!

Hey guys! Yesterday (monday) made

11 Puke Free Days!!!

Wow, that seems like an eternity around here!

I'm starting to make some small changes, just to see what will happen. I just feel so sorry for the little guy. He seems to be starving. :( He wasn't begging when he was sick . . . he would hardly ever cry but lately he just walks around and cries & looks up at me and makes the most pitiful little cries.

Baby steps . . .

One thing I never mentioned was that I had been hand feeding him LOL his breakfast . . . hubby would    at me everytime, but really my logic was just to SLOW HIM DOWN! So I have started dumping his food back in his bowl. It was funny but at first, it was like he didn't know what to do! LOL

I've also quit counting out his food. Just eyeballing it. Not giving him nearly as much as Josie  and keeping it to small portions like before, but I'm going to see if I can get away with doing it this way. I can pretty much tell how much food 20 pieces is by now, LOL . . .

We did this last night & this morning and . . .

So far, so good!

Oh yeah, one last thing, I've been letting him finish up Josie's *scraps* :D She can NEVER finish her food. She always leaves 3 or 4 pieces in her bowl. We always say it's because she's too lazy to fish them out and always before, I'd rush to get them out and toss them because I didn't want him overeatting. I've been letting him have them lately though, as long as it's not a whole bowl full.

Yesterday (Tuesday) Makes

12 DAYS!!!

He seems to be really excited to be eating out of his own bowl again, LOL. I just wonder what has made the difference? The food? The water? The litter change? Guess we'll never know cause I'm not going to try to find out!

Well guys, looks like 12 days is as far as we made it. :(

Brodie puked up his snack today.

I'm not terribly upset though because the vet told me to expect that he would just start puking *less* . . . I shouldn't have expected him to quit cold turkey.

I haven't fed him anymore since . . . thought I'd give him awhile to recoop. I will feed him wet food later tonight, before we go to bed, see if that stays down. I just hope & pray that the cycle doesn't start all over again!

Maybe cut back on the portions again a little bit?

Is there drinkable aloe for cats? Sure works healing wonders for the humans I have seen use it. Cats wouldn't like the flavour...maybe mix a bit in with some wet food...

I used the gel on a cat who has meds and occ'l bloody stool - MUCH better now. Just a little clump or it on the muzzle(again, a flavour thing).

You'll be ok, Brodie! HUGS from Catty1

Brodie puked again this morning. That means he's puked 4 times in the past week. Not totally horrible, but disappointing none the less.

I have a theory. I'm going to test it out.

Yes, I have increased his intake, but not by *that much* . . . I've only increased his morning breakfast amount by probably 10 kibbles. What worries me more is HOW FAST he eats! He's a little manic!!!

Before, when I was getting him adjusted and he was on his "no vomit streak" I was hand feeding him, to slow him down. Maybe that was helping?

I am going to try that again. Just for a few days, see if it does make a difference. I don't know how else to slow him down!!!
