I took Rachel into the vet on Saturday for possible UTI. She weighed in at 16.8 pounds. Not bad considering I got her at only 5.3 pounds. So the vet tech went in search for Rachel's bladder. She said she couldn't feel it around the "porkyness". She said she needs a set of bigger hands to feel it. So she took Rachel in back, and had someone with bigger hands try to find her bladder. Well he couldn't find it either. So they had to do the "long finger approch" they couldn't get any urine out of her. So they put her on 2 weeks on antibiotics. They said that I really need to get her to lose some weight.
Also I had them check her lumps as well. They said that there is nothing to worry about, all they are is fat. :( :o She said that is one more reason to make Rachel go on a diet. I tried to tell them that she has been on a diet. She is already looking slimmer. Poor girl, goes to the vet and gets violated then gets made fun of for being "porky".

I know exactly how you feel one of my babies is extremely overweight. I'm actually about to start him on a diet before his weight get's too out of hand.

Talk about adding insult to injury!!! Poor Rachel! A trip to the white coats is bad enough but violation and such insulting weight remarks to boot!!!
Just you remember Rachel that only means there is more of you for mom to hug and squeeze! ;) :)

Poor Rachel.:( Hopefully she'll be able to lose the weight she needs to without any problems. I used to free feed my cats but I have 2 very piggy cats that would weigh over 20lbs if I still free fed them. Good luck with your diet Rachel.:)

Poor Rachel. My kitties are plump too and weigh about as much as Rachel. I've changed their food to Nutro Weight Loss but it doesn't seem to help - they just eat more of it. They don't get much exercise either. :(

Poor Rachel! One of my kitties, Amadeus, is starting to get a little chunky. Sebastian has a saggy belly and Augustus is just a big cat (he looks chubby because of the amount of fur on his body)! :)
