Kelowna Meeting?

I've been saying that I've been wanting to go to Kelowna for a while but my work schedule never really allowed it. I'm going for my road test next month so I was thinking about maybe having a meeting up there around May? Anyone up for it? (TASHA!!! :D)

Unfortunately I can't get any holidays in May. Of course there are the weekends but it's too rushed for me to drive up on Saturday and drive back on Sunday as I have other people to see up there as well. For me, it will have to wait until I can make it a 3 or 4 day weekend.

May is a possibility....perhaps May long weekend?? Only thing is that May long weekend in notorious for having bad weather which may make crossing the mountains a little difficult.
It'll be touch and go with me until very near the date... I'll try and put some money away for it just in case though.

Thanks for the offer, but I am always "busy". I have my 3 month old puppy, 3 cats and a 2 year old daughter. Perhaps we could arrange for a meeting in Vancouver or Surrey? I love Surrey (the City of Parks!) - we have so many dog friendly parks here. My favorite is called "Freedom for Dogs", but I haven't had a chance to go there yet. I went when I was doing an assignment for college - we had to go and take pictures of different breeds of dogs. They made that park for the dogs, not us humans LOL! Anyway, thanks again for the offer, I truly appreciate it. :D

My sister, The Cat Factory, lives in Surrey as well. Yesterday was so beautiful, today it's raining again. Is the rain ever going to stop? LOL! That would be awesome if we could have a meeting @ one of Surrey's many parks. I know tons of great parks that have off leash areas for dogs. I will be waiting for your thread! :D

I don't think it would be doable for me as Vancouver is I believe a 12 hour drive..... quite far for a weekend trip... and I can't get any time off in June I don't think. Definitely none in May....

Well - the office I work at goes into shutdown for several weeks in July - but that is a VERY VERY busy time at the boarding kennel!

Still, if it was just for a long weekend and we all met in the middle in Kelowna, that could work! I am off Sat -Sun

IE - we could make ANY weekend a long one, though I do have the Mondays off on the REAL ones.

AHH, I need to get the internet so I can see these things! lol. I would LOOOVE to have another meeting. We just can't have it at the campsite like the other meeting was --- lately too many bad things have been happening with dogs up there --- Attacks, people getting hurt, etc.

However, I wouldn't mind hosting a get-together at my house. I don't have the nicest house in the world (LOL), but it's a big back yard, and definatly enough room for dogs and a barbecue. Ashley has already talked to me about staying at my place, and I would love for anyone else to stay. We could have a big slumber party lol. I have lots of room, everyone let me know if they need a place to stay.

Is that a plan? We don't have to have abarbecue at my place, if everyone would rather go to the dog park, that is fine too.

Now all we need is a date --- Ashley mentioned May long weekend, I believe that is the weekend of mine and Visa's obedience trial, which I really can't miss as I'd like to get her CD title on her this year. I'm going to confirm whether or not it is that weekend. Everything else I have with Visa so far is in April or not until or after July.

Well, I am on the cat side, so dog park is not a big deal for me. I'd rather stay in the house, if that is ok! (Won't bring the kitties though! LOL)

May long wknd likely works for me...is that the weekend of the 20th? If it is, I have a gig Sat night...but I might also have to to go Vancouver as an artist is releasing a CD around then that has one of my songs on it. Waiting to hear about that date.

Maybe two meetings would be better? Or I will just PM when I am coming there and see if anyone else wants to show up?

It's the 20th, 21st, 22nd --- Ashley is pretty sure she's coming that weekend -- we'll still have another meeting another month because it seems like most people can't make it that weekend, but if we can get enough people to come that weekend, we'll make that a meeting too. :D

I think you are the only cat person who thinks May might work lol -- slick has already said May is out for her ( :( I miss you Vickie).

So we also want to figure out what weekend is best for everyone, so we know when to have the next meeting (after May).

The editor where I work just had a birthday March 20th. Someone put Happy 53rd on one of the envelopes, and he said whoever did that was dyslexic!

I was wondering when the meeting would be, I have money this year so I am comming, however I need to know when it will be so I can arrange my work schedual around it, and plan a flight and where to stay if I have to come early or stay longer etc..

I would rather do the barbeque thing as Happy and Misty are comming and while Misty is fine at a dog park, it will be stressfull enugh on Happy as it is, unless she stayed behind and Jordens, but I cant leave her home as its hard enugh on her that I am even working all the time, my mom said that Happy goes outside and sits at the gate refusing to come in till I get home :( but as an advanced warning she will have to be introduced to the other dogs at the meeting one by one, she is fine once she knows them, but random people at a dogpark aint gonna see it that way lol

ok it seems may is out lol I cant do the first weekend of June because that is mosaic and I am preforming. but I need to know soon as I need to work out flight plans and let my boss know what days I need off so she can get someone else to fill in.

Arrrg. I don't think I can make it for may long weekend anymore. I failed my road test (I had no clue I was supposed to shoulder check when turning right corners lol) and I can't get a retest until June 5th.

ok is around the 18th of June ok? I HAD to pick my vacation time yesterday, my boss put me down for around June 18th and I have 2 weeks, so please I NEED to know if this works for people! I still have a little room for changing it is I need to, but I had to pick a date or be left the scraps! so PLEASE I need an idea if this is going to work for people!
