As RICHARD said, Karen, "anything they want to!" Let me get a fire going and I'll start sweeping. I saw pieces of stale peeps on the floor.

Good morning everyone! Yes, I know about the Ides of March Laurie.

Richard, you know it's a tradition on our family to always have 151 proof rum in our morning coffee on Christmas Day. What the heck, Merry Christmas everyone and pass that 151 down this way. :D :D

I'm still full after that juicy burger and onion rings Gini fixed me last night. Think I'll just chill out by the fire with my morning "beverage". I'm home all day today so will check in often.

'Morning everybody! :D

Another bright beautiful day here....if you don't mind chilly temps.

Karen, my alien eats Cheerios for breakfast every morning....which reminds me...we're down to one box so I best remember to stop on my way home!

When I was a teenager, legal drinking age was 18. I was in the bars from the time I was 16 - and Barcardi and coke was my preferred drink. Not rum and coke mind you, but Barcardi and coke. One time the bartender thought it would be fun to switch to 151 without telling me. I thought the drink tasted a little different but didn't think much of it....until I woke up the next day with THE worst headache! As I grew older and had to earn my own money to pay for drinks, I started drinking beer (WAY cheaper) and got away from the Barcardi and coke. Now I don't drink it because I normally do my drinking in the evenings and there is NO way I can drink coke that late at night and still expect to get some sleep....also can't handle the headaches the next morning like I used to be able to either....getting old sucks. ;) :D

I'm on a diet, so I'll just have some fruit and yogurt for breakfast, made the way Randi made it last July at Sara's house - yum-me!

Randi
03-15-2006, 11:00 AM
Good afternoon everyone! :) You can't believe what I've been drinking ..... A CAN OF VANILLA COKE!!! A very considerate PTalker sent it to me a while ago, since I never tasted it before ;) Can't get it here. It actually tastes quite good, although a little sweeter than the normal, right? I usually drink bobbly or just plain water. No alcohol in the daytime!!

Debbie, I'm glad you liked my breakfast, and it's healthy. :D In the summer, I eat that all the time. Also, Shredded Wheat is good - the ones with a raisin in the middle.

I've been to the dentist to have my last wisdom tooth pulled out today, it took 10 seconds, but the shot he gave me is only just wearing off - why didn't I think!! I was starving when I came home and couldn't chew anything. Well, I had to eat a can of Heinz tomato soup - not my favourite!

Anyway, I'll soon be ready for a Bacardy and coke! :D

lbaker
03-15-2006, 11:41 AM
Hi Randi! I'm about to fix a nice plate of ost og skinke, would you be able to nibble on any of that? Especially if the ost is soft perhaps ;) I love vanilla coke, it reminds me of cream soda. hmmmm, Bacardi and cream soda. What a concept!

Randi
03-15-2006, 11:59 AM
Uhhmm Laurie, I think I'm ready for some ost & skinke - if the cheese is not too mature. ;) I'm also trying to make up my mind whether to take a glass of wine or a painkiller now ....

Where did you get that "ost & skinke" from?? LOL!

Mmmm.....I love "mature" cheese! But what is ost & skinke? Randi, glass of wine sounds wonderful, but sometimes those painkillers are a real trip - if you know what I mean. ;) :D

I'm up for a 151 and vanilla coke - sounds yummy!

Anybody seen the Orc? Or is it...anybody seen Orc? We could use some more wood on the fire. The chill is starting to creep in here and my old bones can't take it anymore.

lbaker
03-15-2006, 02:49 PM
I'm right with you with the chilled old bones! It was 86 degrees on Monday and right now it's 52 degrees and windy , possible snow flurries tonight. That's March in DC for you  I met this guy from Denmark at the meeting in St Louis and his username for online access was ost, his password was skinke. I looked a bit puzzled I guess and he told me was "cheese & ham" - "ost og stinke". I thought of Randi and that made me smile  I'm really not much of a rum drinker (unless it's in a Pina Colada) so I'll join you with that white wine. Thanks.

Sorry I have not been around much today...I tried to be. I'm starving, starving, starving. What's for dinner? I've really being trying to eat healthy but since this is cyber, bring it on. Anything greasy and artery-clogging will do. Crunching veggies is good but sometimes my teeth want to sink into huge bratwurst with all the trimmings. How about a couple of ice cold brewskies to go with it. Mmmmmmm...

Gee, I missed the pretzels and the salmon too? What was I thinking yesterday?

I love hot pretzels with some yummy mustard and a really cold one - great for what ails you.

But it is time for breakfast - anyone up for cream of wheat with brown sugar and bananas? Or should I make oatmeal?

And the coffee - good grief - let me get a pot of strong coffee going.

Randi

I'm feeling a lot better today, so I'm ready for almost anything. How about a good english breakfast .... you can keep the beans though! ;)

The barkeep is probably hard at work (why does that make me laugh out loud?), so I will open a brand new bottle of 151 and pour strong drinks for everyone. That should fortify you for the morning at least.

Would anyone like to try 151 with the new coke product COKE BLAK!

Just heard about it this morning.

What a sight for sore eyes! Logan! Just yesterday I was thinking of you.

In my days before counting calories and everything else....my drink was Myers Dark Rum and Pineapple juice....oh the sweet and sour of it....the yin and yan of it....the smooth and tart of it.....

Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end, we'd sing and dance forever and a day....

Lady's Human
03-16-2006, 12:22 PM
ES, being that they would be cyber calories, why not come up to the bar and order one? I'm sure richard could do a charitable job of mixing one!

Coffee flavored coke? Blah.. I think I'll stick to straight coffee flavored coffee, thank you.

Anyway, there's fruit salad on the bar, and if anyone is here in Central New York, make sure you weight your puppers down before letting them outside. 30-50 MPH winds for the last two days, mixed in with lake effect snow. Such fun.

Randi
03-16-2006, 12:35 PM
I was going to ask the same, Karen, but you beat me to it.

I can tell from your posts that I'll just HAVE to go to Dominican Republic again and get 6 more bottles of dark rum - uhmm, it's SO good!! .... And while I'm in the area, I might as well go visit Ptalkers in the US. :)

Oh, back to reality and my curry in a pot. May be back later .....

Can I get a super duper extra large cherry vanilla coke please?

Weird things going on here, well weirder than usual. My car dropped its tail pipe the other day. I took it to get fixed yesterday and it had broken it 3 places and the muffler was non-existant. Where did it go? and why?

Right when I need my car the most - it does this. I'm sure the town loved seeing me heading to the repair shop drapping my tail pipe behind me! ;)

Oh gosh, it's awfully quiet in here this morning again. Do I need to do the Marine wake-up call again? Nah, we'll let them all sleep in today. Maybe the smell of fresh organic Brazillion grown-in-the-shade coffee from Trader Joes will wake them up. I see Slick left a bottle of Baileys here, so I guess I'll just add some of that to my cup too.

By the way, speaking of Coke Blak, I believe it's at Dunken Donuts now where you can get a shot of espresso in your cup of coffee for an extra "jolt"! What's going to happen to today's kids when the world runs out of caffeine?

Mario, sssshhh. Come here sweety, sure I'll add some cherries to your cereal this morning.

Caffeine is a renewable resource, unlike oil, and other "fossil" fuels. So there! Caffeine doesn't do much for me, Swedish grandpa's genes in effect there, but I've seen its effect on others!

C'mon, folks, warm Irish Soda bread this morning, just at the right temperature so the butter'll melt on your slice ...

Slick, doesn't matter what form the alcohol is in right now, as long as it's liquid and goes down cold. ;) :D

I'm going NUTS! I can't properly talk to Terry because the boss is here, and now I realize I forgot my cell phone at home....which means I have to wait until I get home to find out details....and that's about 2 1/2 hours from now!!

I need everybody's help here. Everybody please do the "Boss GO HOME!" mantra.

You're going to help too, Mario? You're such a sweety. Ok, together now.... Ooohhhmmm.....boss go home....ooohhhmmmm....boss go home....oooohhhmmmm...

I want Amy to come to Camp Glenrose and stay with us for the summer, but it looks unlikely right now unless the Mayor can pull some magic. I have another thing right now. I'll post in another thread. NO, I won't bring bad vibes into the bar. See you guys later.

I think I'm hoping for something non-existant, but does this bar serve anything that will put you to sleep and make you feel 100% times better when you wake up?

Ah.. nevermind a nice glass of water and a box of tissues will do.
I'm stuck at the moment between wanting to quit my job and being too freakin scared to move onto something I really enjoy, and hopefully working with people that will actually work. (Like applying for the Animal Hospital down the street.) :(

Kay,

Hugs, a backrub and a drink?

We can have Lady give you some kisses and cuddle with you while you're getting your backrub as well (and make sure Mario stops throwing cherry pits)

Kay, go apply. If it's meant to be, you'll get hired. If you don't get hired, that means there's something better waiting for you. Life is all about taking chances, so go for it. Also, if for whatever reason it doesn't work out, you're still young enough (WAY young enough) to pick yourself up and either move on to something new and better, or to fall back on your current job. Seeing as you have experience, I'm sure they'd have no reservations about hiring you back if you ever wanted/needed.

Here's a toast to taking chances in life! My motto - GO FOR IT!!! :D

Oops, forgot to say sorry, LOH. I'll go make another pitcher of slushies to share. I've calmed down enough that I don't need pitchers all at once anymore. ;)

Laurie, here's a toast to Steve. I know you said he didn't have many friends, but the fact that you consider him one of your best friends says a lot about his character and the man he is. Here's to Steve, along with many many prayers. {{{hugs}}}

Yep, Kay, go apply at the other place. Take a chance. It won't hurt, I promise! How about a nice, soothing mug of blueberry tea? If it's hot down there (it's cold up here) you can have yours over ice, okay?

I hope none of you mind, I put a candle in the window for Steve.

It has been a long day - just about to roll down the shades and call it a done day.

I will make a batch of slushies and then go on home.............

I just got home myself after a long workday. I will light a candle here too and say some special prayers for Steve. Laurie must be beside herself with worry. Imagine your best friend lying in a hospital bed and you have no control over the outcome. {{{hugs}}} for Laurie and Steve's family and friends.

**squeak....as the door opens**
Hello??? Anyone home??
Yes, I know the bar is closed but I let myself in because...well...today was such a bad day that I really need a drink and some comfort food. How could so many things go wrong in such a short time?? Oh well, no sense in complaining. Right now I need to focus on prayers for Steve and Laurie.

****places ice in glass and pours a huge double BM****

Mario and Lady, any chance you could sit down on the couch with me?? Ahhh, the fire feels good. Funny how in cyber, the fire is always lit. ;)

I miss Possum and Trevor and also Richard. I wonder how they are doing?? No Lady, this drink is not for you. Hang on while I freshen up that water bowl. That's better. Now, let me switch the big screen TV to American Idol. Until next week folks. Cheers!!!

I'll excuse your nighty if you'll excuse my bunny slippers. NO LADY! They are just slippers  Allow me to futz around in the back and scramble some eggs while the coffee gets going. I have a feeling a few of us are going to need it this morning. Time to clean up for Thursday 152. That reminds me of a great drink I had in San Fran a month or so ago. A B-52 coffee. Let's see if we have the ingredients back here somewhere ~ boy are you guys in for a treat!
