So, our dear bartender had his internet taken away again :( so I emailed him and he said it was OK for me to open the bar. He sounds sick.....I'm sick.....my Mom is sick....thus the theme for this week.
There is a stack of blankies and pillows by the door, help yourself but don't bump into mile high stack of kleenex boxes. As well as the usual "medicinal remedies" there are also some drug store stuff. When I was down in LA last weekend I picked up some Airborne...amazing stuff if you take it early on. Now, we must be careful...don't want any alcohol and drug interactions going on. :D Oh yes, and I give a great massage...just ask Gini and Sara! ;)
So curl up by the roaring fire, stay warm and enjoy a "Hot Toddy"....no comments from the peanut gallery... ;)
Feel better everyone!
Corinna

since I'm feeling better I'll help you take care of the sickees. I brought Dugan and lady to help those who need cuddly treatments. I think a cup of green tea today would be nice. I'll make a pot for others too.
Sounds like the BBQ went well last weekend.

Feel better everyone!Toddy's here! YAY! I hear he gives GREAT massages! :D
Add me to the sickly list too. I'm hoping Toddy will toddle over here with a nice hot cuppa chicken soup with a side of Kleenex. :p

I'm here, and brought Lady, borrowed from Lady's Human and Lady's Other Human. She's got that short, soft coat, so is a good "hot water bottle" for anyone whose aching muscles could use it. I'm healthy, so will boil water for tea for anyone who wants it. I'll make a pot of chai, but also have yummy blueberry tea that's gotta be good for what ails ya, too. Vitamin C and all that ...

I have a kettle of chicken soup going . should I add the homemade noodles of just as a broth?
davidpizzica
03-01-2006, 03:43 PM
Chicken soup will do me fine. I feel okay, just a little tired after working at Good Will. I swear those people there think I'm 27 instead of 57! Does anyone need a fire going? If so, I'll get Orc started with gathering firewood.

Hi everybody - sorry to hear about all of the sickies. How 'bout I make some fresh squeezed OJ to help chase away the blues - Mimosas for whomever wants them :)
I had the most horrible dream last night - I had flown down to sunny CA to meet pettalkers and it was a dull and boring weekend. What a nightmare. Good thing that I know that the real thing is much, much different. :D

Happy Thursday everybody. Sorry to hear about all you sickos (just kidding). Hey, if you need a nice, warm, hot water bottle, MooShoo has his paw raised volunteering. Got the box ready, just gimme the address, I'll slap on a label and he'll be there in two shakes of his rat tail to ease your pain!! :D :D

I thought we could play Bridge this year. :D
I am dealing with a very depressed, dominant and demanding client today - so I'd better just go for some of that tea - and skip the spirits.
So far, I am not sick.........what did you and Richard do, Slick?

All your worries and you still have time for me. Snuggle up dear Boy. :) If life is a carrousel I want to get off right now  Anyone for a game of pool? Or Poker? How about some hot ginger brandy for all you with sinus problems? Clears 'em right out. (Trust me)
David, last night I got the fire here so hot I couldn't get close enough to toast marshmallows. I looke silly toasting marshmallows for Marylin wearing the fire gloves! :D
Karen
03-01-2006, 08:45 PM
But I am sure Marylin would rather have toasted marshmallows than toasted Daddy!
Hey, let's all toast marshmallows, 'specially so Zippy can have s'more s'mores!

Zip,
Forget the store bought.
You must first,
drop a mallow into the flames, singe the poop outta one, burn your hand or tongue and duel with someone else-there is nothing like having a skewer fight and watching an opponent's mallow fall into the ashes..

Add me to the sickies list, but I don't have a cold or anything....that I know of anyway. I just feel tired, headachy, achy bones, no naseau (whew!), just down and in the dumps I guess.
My head hurts so I don't want to think about anything. Yes, David, a fire would be wonderful. I'll just curl up on the couch with a bankie, and a hot toddy. A massage would be wonderful too, to ease these achy bones. Gosh, if I feel like this at 44, how in the world am I going to feel when I'm 74?  :(
As for boring PT meetings, I that is an oxymoron. I don't care if we're watching slide shows or playing bridge, somehow I just can't imagine that it would be dull and boring. :D
Ok, enough typing. I've had to correct a typo about every 3rd word on this post. I need to go home and go back to bed and shut out the world for awhile....

Thanks, Laurie. :D
My boss just called and he's home sick. Almost told him to come here for some comfort. ;) But that must be why I'm feeling blah, I'm just a day or two behind him. He sounded all stuffy and really bad though. Sure hope I don't get it that bad. :(
Speaking of comfort, I'm not so sick that my appetite is gone, so what kind of comfort food are we having today? Haven't had onion rings in a while.....which reminds me, where's MOFF been lately?

I'm feeling a bit down, myself - work related junk. *sigh*
I don't like my new boss very much.

Corinna, oh, don't even think about tempting me!! (I will be right over)
My downfall is a doughnut! Any kind will do...............
I was driving home after dropping Slick off at the airport and I drove
right by a Krispie Kreme shop. It was so tempting to pull into that drive-through............but I was good.............and I am not proud of it either!
I must rather would have liked to have had a doughnut or two...........
Corinna - oh no! - glazed - chocolate covered - creme filled - jelly filled -
how could you?????? (hope you get the job).

Always reminds me of an old Dunkin' Donuts (I think) commercial. "Time to make the donuts, time to make the donuts..." as the guy stubbles around half asleep. :D
Donuts and a hot toddy by the fire after a good massage.....aaaahhhh...
Good thing I'm wrapped up here by the fire, because our heat at work finally decided to give up the ghost. It's been acting geeky since November. The boss has gotten quotes on replacing the furnace but that's as far as it's gotten. So there the quotes sit in his "in box" and here I sit in a 67 degree office - and dropping! The heat hasn't gone on since I got back from lunch. If not for my little heater under my desk - brrrrrr......<shivers as she takes another sip of hot toddy> Every now and then I have to sit on my "mouse hand" to warm it up.
Good luck, Corinna!

donuts must be the cure all for any thing that ails you . Shure got some of the sickies more alive.
I'm sure I'll have no pproblems this time . I know what those little gems do to my blood sugars and I really only want one a year, and thats an old fashion plain no glaze. I know how boring but rather have lots of boring than fewer sweet things.
What is so funny is he wanted to do it today but i had 2loaves of Pizza bread ,2 loaves of dark pumpernickel, and a strawberry pie all going at the time . I had to laugh and explain why tomorrow would be better. Kizmet maybe?
Thanks guys I know I'll feel your good vibes tommorrow. Gosh I just can't tell you how I want this job.
It's like moosmom and the newspaper, by the way how did that go Donna?

It's kinda warm here so I'll take a BIG glass of ice water, slice of lemon too?

Twenty-eight years ago, Bubba Thibodeaux, a Louisiana man from deep in the bayou, was drafted by the Army.
One his first day of boot camp, the Army issued him a toothbruch.
That afternoon, an Army dentist yanked several of his teeth.
On his second day, the Army issued him a comb.
That afternoon, an Army barber sheared his head.
On his third day, he was issued a jock strap.
The Army is still looking for Bubba..
happy Friday everyone ;)

You guys should come to my work. I walked into the lunchroom and the table is full...and I mean full.....of boxes of Tim Horton's donuts. Corinna, did you make a visit in the middle of the night?? ;)

Mario, quit laughing at me! I can't help it that I got a bloody nose and the only way to stop it is to sit here with tissues hanging out of my nose. Good thing I have the kind of job where very few people actually see me. :o
I can't get it to stop. I've held my head back, pinched my nose and everything. Everytime I bring my head back up and unpinch/take the tissue out, it starts up again.
Ok, laugh of the day, picture me with my head tilted backwards, with a tissue coming out of one nostril, trying to read and type on PT. :D

I remember it happening to my mom many years ago too, so I guess it's hereditary - along with the bad heart, the arthritis, the thyroid problems, etc..... ;)
