Hi! My name is Lady Harvest Moon, and I was that teensy black chick! The little yellow chick is Archangel, and we are the fanciest chickens ever! Mommy brought us home when we were only two days old, and that was two whole years ago. I am an Indonesian Ayam Cemani, and my sister is - deep breath! - a Chamois Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben from Switzerland!
It's okay if you can't say it, nobody else can either.
We live in the house. Mommy says ALL chickens should live in the house but I don't think very many do. We grew up on her computer desk which is why we learned to type emails. But we work very hard! Our Mommy has an anxiety disorder, and we help her stay calm. That means we had to learn to be very good and not run around and cause trouble when we go out with her. Like the time we helped our Mommy to pick out paint. Did you know there are SOOOOOO many colours?! We finally got some pretty pinks, greens, and yellows because Mommy wanted the place to look like a summer sunset. We lay eggs, too. Mommy says we lay the best eggs ever and we have a special box for laying. We even have our own loveseat for naps. We are very spoiled, but we do lots of jobs other chickens don't, so I think we deserve it. We make it easy for our Mommy to meet people, to help her stay calm, and to clean up any messes that fall onto the floor. We are very clever and very special, and I think we are the best pets ever.
