Well, my little (very cute) Krrümel is special because normally you have to leave hamsters alone when you bought them for at least a week (sometimes even longer) so that they have time to calm down and get used to their new home. Normally it takes up to three weeks (or even longer) if you want the hamster to sit on your hand.
But Krrümel is different. I bought him and sat him into the cage. He didn't run to his shelter. He just sat there and looked up to me. He looked so calm, so I decided to lay my and at the bottom of his cage (quite far away, so he wouldn't become nervous) but he just came and sat on my hand, sniffing around. When I come to his cage (or even my father with his big hands) he never gets scared, even if you come fast from above (just like a bird) he just watches your hand and lets you pet him.
In addition to that he is a very good climber. His cage is on a high bureau, and one day he broke out (I have no idea how he managed this) and walked over to my bookshelf (it stood right next to it) and climbed down four shelves (Regalbretter).I can tell because he nibbled all my books -_- when I noticed he wasn't in his cage anymore I searched for him. I found him sitting in front of the bath door. When he saw me he walked over and waited for me to pick him up. He seemed quite happy to be back in his cage :D Well, so i really DO think he is special. We had guinea pigs some years ago, and none of them got as trusting as he is.
