Tao is a twelve-year-old Arab/Quarter Horse cross gelding. I have owned Tao for nine years. I got him as an abused greenbroke three-year-old. He is a hand full, but has become a true friend to me. I have had Tao in the mountains, arenas, city streets and he has never let me down.
The photo is of Tao with a very uncommon Staph infection, which has never been determined where he got it or why. He has lost most of his hair and was very ill. We thought in the latter part of February I might lose him. But he pulled through and other than some scarring from the severity of the illness, he is as perky and ornery as ever. He also plays chase with me again, and always has a "heads up" greeting when I arrive at the pasture.
I work out of town and he seems to know when Friday comes and which rig is mine and the sound of it. I look forward to many more years with my friend Tao.
