Buster is a special bird because of all the joy he has brought to our home. He was about three months old in this picture, but I love this picture, as it shows his curiosity, I think. He was a special Christmas surprise for my boyfriend who at this time really needed a pet of his own he could love. I went to pick him out about a week before Christmas Eve from a group of babies that were still being hand fed and went a few times during the week that followed to learn how to properly hand feed him for the short time he would still need this. He then came to stay with us Christmas eve when he was only about five weeks old and initially stayed in an aquarium until he was old enough to be put in a cage and learn how to perch. He was for a while a little clumsy but now he's turned into a very active bird who is an expert climber.
He loves his toys and is very active in his playtime especially swinging on his rings. He also loves to climb around on top of the cage and, as I found out tonight, sit on my shoulder and play in my hair. He has lots of personality and loves to listen to you talk to him. I have to say that I wasn't really a bird person too much before him but I have since been converted as I/we both love having him here (and spoil him rotten too)!
