This picture is of Coco. He is a forty-year-old African Grey parrot. In captivity, they can live to sixty - so they are a long-time commitment, just so you know. He lives in Lompoc, California.
Coco is very special because after all these years, he is a part of our family. He calls us by our names, laughs when we laugh, barks at our dog, and calls her (the dog) to his cage. Coco also dances when the stereo is on. When the phone rings he says, "Hello," and when someone is leaving and they jingle their car keys he always tells them, "Good-Bye." He is our special family member, not just a pet!
