Jiggles is a special little one. He is still just adjusting to me, but had a blast at the Reptile Show in Halifax when we went. He was the star of the show.
Green Iguanas are great pets, but only to people that are knowledgeable about them. And they are not for everyone, do your research before getting one of these guys!
Here in Nova Scotia, they are not easy to find. Expecially the babies! I did my research and decided that I needed to have this little guy. I believe he is actually a life saver in many ways! After having my third child, just four months ago, I was a little depressed and wanted a puppy, but they are a lot of work and my husband wouldn't allow me to get a lap dog, because of our Black Lab - he said she'd get jealous. So, I found myself getting more and more depressed. I'd just sit there, and watch tv, take care of the kids and had no hobby. Well, I had my Black Lab, but she's not interested in being a lap dog, even if she would fit.
So, after my husband was talking about doing something with his hobby, I asked for my Jiggles. And I got him! :-) Now, I don't feel down hardly at all. I have someone that will listen to me and not say a word. I also now am in the works of joining a local group of Reptile owners and am getting involved in a hobby of my own.
Now remember, I'm an at-home-mom, so I need a hobby like you wouldn't believe. Most moms, whether working or not, NEED that break and also need something to be interested in to take their mind off of the kids for a moment! Jiggles is a wonderful little Iguana. I took him to the local Reptile show, after only having him for a little over a week, and he was the star attraction. He was the little baby that he is, and he just loved up to everyone. Jiggles is not what most people would think would be friendly, but he is friendlier than most Iguanas that I've heard about. He hates his baths (so far), but knows now, that when mommy's hand comes down I can jump onto it to get out of the tub! He is quite the little clown!
