This is Koko in one of her "mellow" moods ... actually I had just taken the saddle off and she was feeling very frisky. Koko is my 20-year-old mare, and I have had since she was 5 years old. We have been through a lot. For years she and I went everywhere together, and she did anything I would ask ... or at least would give it her all.
Now she has a degenerative bone disease in her knees and can no longer be ridden. But as long as she lives she will be spoiled and taken care of as well as I can manage. She is a Morgan Mare, a bay and with the best disposition a horse can have. She has given me four babies in her life and now is just roaming the pasture and enjoying the apples and goodies I give her. We live in the beautiful State of Oregon, a place called Bandon by the Sea. A very special place for a wonderful special horse!
