Cheddar has been with me since he was a baby. He loves to be out on my shoulder, and loves to "preen" my hair. He also likes to sit in the window and talk to the birds outside.
Once we had asked our neighbors to look after him while we were gone, so on our way over with the cage, the top fell off and he flew out. He circled the house till he got tired and we finally caught him. He's been through a lot. We also have cats, we have always had cats. Cats aren't the only animal with more than one life - we say Cheddar has at least 9! We have let him out and forgotten to put him back in many times and one time had gone into town, when we had arrived home, the cat was just pulling him out of a crevice with his paw. Good timing, as we were able to save him! I hope after that he knows that the floor is NOT a safe place to explore when mom and dad are away.
He's such a funny, cheery bird, and a real survivor! At 11 years old, he's a member of the family, not "just a bird" by any means.
