Rocky is the smallest of our four finches, and as a result gets pecked on quite a bit. We were keeping him in a cage by himself to allow his neck feathers to grow back, and they did, but he was unhappy. He didn't sing very much, and he wouldn't fly around or come out of his cage. We've since given him a roommate named Steeler, and these two are constantly playing outside their cage together and flying around.
Rocky is the early bird of our finches. As soon as their light turns on, he is the first one out of his nest and singing. He sings most of the day, and has learned how to build a nest in his "old" age. One of his favorite treats to eat is cucumber. He doesn't always look pretty with his neck feathers pecked out, but he is happy and sings to show it!
