Earl the Ferret, the Pet of the Day
Name: Earl
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Ferret
Home: Butler, Pennsylvania, USA

My pet ferret's name is Earl and she lives with me in Butler, Pennsylvania. She is three years old and is pure albino, with red eyes.

She was found along the highway by her previous owners; then they had to give her away when their new ferrets started picking on her. They named her, maybe before they knew she was a female, but she knows her name, so we kept it. My dad saw the free ferret sign at work, and we picked her up and made her at home. We gave her a dryer hose and she loves to scamper through it. She explores every box, bag, garbage can, and hole she finds. Once, she took a bite out of our pet chicken before we could stop her! Thankfully, we were able to separate them and bandage the chicken - they are not allowed near each other any more!

She can be very hyper and crazy sometimes, but she is usually docile and calm. She begs for treats, especially Corn Chex. She sleeps with me every night and loves to sleep on peoples' laps all the time. She goes on walks on our farm in the summertime and digs holes in the yard chasing after moles. That is why Earl is special.
