Hektor is my Leopard Gecko, and he is three years old. He is as big as he will get, as they stop growing by the time they are about a year old. He loves his food - crickets dusted with calcium powder - and will perk up for that, and give me that famous gecko smile. That's when he is most pphotogenic, only when he wants to eat. Otherwise he just sleeps somewhere under cover, or in hiding.
He is such a good boy, and he is my little friend. It may look like he is singing in his second photo, but really he was yawning. As a wild species, they are native to rocky, dry grassland and desert regions of South Asia - parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and India, where it does get cold at night in winter especially. So wild ones will hibernate in winter. But Hektor is a captive-bred boy, and definitely a pet, so he gets to stay in the warm house, and stay active through the cold Russian winter.
