Mickey (Mickey Blue Eyes is his full name) is my special boy for many reasons, he always cheers me up when I go to see him, he is playful and has an awesome personality. He's also your typical naughty pony so that keeps things interesting!
I try to get out to see him at least three times a week, I live close to the city and don't have much of my own land so he stays at a stable half an hour away from where I live. I'm a student and I work a lot so I definitely need my pony down time. He is very affectionate, he loves hugs and cuddles (if anyone but me tries to cuddle him, though, he has a bad habit of head butting them!) He comes when I call and we are working on riding without a saddle and bridle (just a rope around his neck). As far as tricks go he can side pass, collect and extend his paces and jump fairly high for his size, I wouldn't call those "tricks" exactly but I have never been much into teaching my horses/ponies tricks. He loves tag! I will let him out in our indoor arena and start to run and he'll begin to chase me, then I'll turn around and chase him. It's lots of fun :)
As far as the naughty pony thing goes, there are many stories there! As I said he has a bad habit of head butting people who aren't me, every so often he gets bored while I an riding him so he pretends to spook at things to try to unseat me. He bucks occasionally and one day last winter I took him out for a long ride in the snow, through the woods and when we stopped at a meadow he decided to lay down! So all of a sudden I went from being on top of my pony to being sideways on the ground underneath him! He is a very special pony!
