Athena is a Corn Snake - the Latin name is Elaphe Guttata. They have been captive bred for a long time and people have created different color patterns, hers is called a Tessera morph.
She's a sweetheart and loves people, and has never bitten anybody. Snakes don't really do tricks, but I love her anyway! I love to take her out and get some photos of her checking out my phone, wrapped around my neck, or just being cute. I put the pictures on my DeviantArt, and occasionally have her send positive messages to friends who are down, with hilariously improper grammar, and occasionally even do role-play discussions with friends who want to talk to a cute little snake. I sure love her!
