Lily the Dutch Rabbit, the Pet of the Day
Name: Lily
Age: Four and a half years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Dutch Rabbit
Home: United States

I got my dutch rabbit through FFA at school. I show her every summer at fairs. She isn't the "Perfect" dutch rabbit because some of her markings are wrong but she is Perfect in my heart!

As for her "imperfections," her right side where you see that brown, well, that is supposed to be white. It's supposed to be white all around her neck. When I showed her for the first time, it was me against this little girl who also had a Dutch rabbit, born the same day as my bunny too. To make long story short, her bunny had won Best of Breed and Reserve Champion, and that made me mad. Why? Because her bunny had a flaw too. Her blaze (the white marking on the head) was too thin and did reach up to the head but Lily's is perfect. My bunny had that flaw with her saddle (that brown spot I mentioned and hers was perfect. So we were equally tied and the judge had a hard time figuring out who would win. Well the flaw in my rabbit was considered more serious than the blaze so the other girl won.

But if my rabbit didn't have that, I could have won grand champion among every rabbit in the show. But oh well, I still love my bunny no matter what!

A funny story is how I discovered her favorite treat is apples. I was eating an apple near her cage when she practically climbed out to snatch a nibble. She also loves the snow. The very first time I let her outside, she started digging everywhere. I love my Lily bunny!
