Ratatat is quite possibly the sweetest rattie that I've ever laid eyes on since the first day in the pet store! I was unbelievably excited to get rats after my gerbils passed away (from old age). I put my finger up against the glass and even though the other rats were terrified-he came up to me and put his finger on the glass! I instantly knew he was the one, and after I chose his cage-mate as his companion, we went home.
When I got home, I transferred them to their cage and then decided to let them settle and explore the whole room (I kept the travel cage open in case they didn't want to go out). Ratatat, surprisingly, chose to run out towards me, and crawl up to my shoulder and nibbled on my earring! I don't know why he's so social but ever since then we are basically attached to the hip - or shoulder. In fact, he's on my shoulder right now watching me type this! He's never failed to cheer me up and make me laugh! He loves doing tricks and is a pretty playful rat (which is shocking for a male)-he knows how to twirl around, walk on two legs (a little) and is sort of trained to come when I make a certain noise.
I would honestly have to say one of his favorite things he does is popcorning (sort of run/jumping) up to me and licking my lips or nibbling the tip of my nose (which doesn't bother me at all). A game that he loves is chasing a little straw (almost to how a cat would chase a cat toy). He eats VitaSmart complete blend- with some nutrition pallets (that he likes to hide around) and some fresh foods.
